Il Ritrovo-Cucina Casalinga Popolare

Die Friedrichshainerin unter den 3 Schwesterrestaurants, aber sonst kaum zu unterscheiden. Komme ich rein, werde ich sofort nach Italien katapultiert. Zumindest sprechen fast alle um mich herum italienisch und die Pizza ist eine besten, die ich zu kosten vermochte. Der Abend wird idealerweise vom süffigen Hauswein begleitet und bekommt das Sahnehäubchen von einem fluffigen Tiramisu aufgesetzt. Il capo de tutti capi!

Für mich die besten Pizzen die ich kenne! In einem echten Holzofen wird die Pizza lecker knusprig gebacken, die Beläge werden nach dem Backen frisch auf die Pizza gegeben. Die Preise sind ok!
Kellner die sich geben wie sie sich fühlen und eben grad drauf sind, einfacht echt– gut so! Du kannst damit nicht umgehen?- bleib weg! Du fühlst Dich mit «geschmiere» (Grüße und kleine Botschaften von coolen Bands u. Künstlern aus aller Welt) an den Wänden unwohl beim Essen?- bleib weg! Du findest den Weg zum Klo nicht? Frag danach!..
Dieser Laden ist einfach echt, ungekünstelt und wenn man sieht wie liebevoll alle Mitarbeiter mit Kids umgehen ist für mich auch menschlich alles gut!

Interessante Leute– gute Preise– und insgesamt klasse Lokal für ein Essen ohne Schickimicki.
Nix für den Empfang nach der Erstkommunion — zumindest nicht für jeden.

Das beste italienische Restaurant im Kiez– leckere dünne große Pizzen, aber der Knaller sind meines Erachtens die Tagesgerichte. Ich hatte noch nie eins das nicht Mega lecker gewesen wäre, auf der Karte stehen die auch nicht sondern lediglich auf Italienisch an Tafeln im Restaurant.
Wer dazu né Frage hat sollte einfach einen der netten Kellner fragen– kein Problem! Die Gerichte wechseln jede paar Tage, oft sind es welche die auch Reste verwerten — was ich super finde.
Wir waren schon oft hier und es war immer super, das einzige was nicht so toll ist, war der Salat– der ist einfach eine Schüssel voller Grün, dazu eine unaufgeschnittene Tomate, Möhre, Paprika. Eher nicht so mein Fall.
Fazit: nehmt das Tagesgericht oder né Pizza, und hinterher ein Tiramisu!

Eine Freundin und ich sind an einem Freitag gegen Mittag in diesem Lokal gelandet, weil wir unbedingt zum Italiener wollten und alle anderen erst um 16:00 Uhr öffnen.
Angekommen waren wir von der Atmosphäre nicht begeistert. Alles wirkte dreckig und willkürlich zusammen gestellt bzw. bemalt. Wir fühlten uns nicht wohl, wollten dem Ganzen aber eine Chance geben. Nachdem wir uns einen Platz gesucht hatten, kam der Kellner mit einer total kaputten Tischdecke und einer mit Flecken überzogenen Speisekarte.
Es gibt fast nur Pizza sowie drei Pasta-​Sorten, welche auf eine kleinen Tafel an der Wand stehen. Aber alle mit Fisch. Der Kellner wirkte genauso dreckig wie der Rest im Raum, weshalb wir uns gegen eine Bestellung entschieden haben. (Ich bin zusätzlich ein riesiger Pasta-​Fan & wollte tolle italienische Pasta.)
Fazit: Das Essen können wir nicht beurteilen, wollen wir aber auch nicht. Haben danach noch ein anderes italienisches Restaurant gefunden, welche eine tolle Atmosphäre hat, sauber ist und leckere Pasta anbietet. Zu diesem Lokal hier würde ich nie wieder gehen. Weiß nicht, was an diesem Stil (inkl. Dreck) toll ist.

Pizza wie in Italien
Meine italienischen Freundinnen haben mir dieses Restaurant empfohlen und somit hatte ich schon sehr hohe Erwartungen. Ich wurde nicht enttäuscht.

Geile Pizza, furchtbar unfreundliche Bedienung. Und warum bitteschön bezahlen Leute für einen Salat, deren Zutaten sie selbst schneiden sollen? Merkwürdig!

Was aber garnicht geht: Wenn knapp die Hälfte (!) der Pizza übrig ist und ich höflich darum bitte, dass diese eingepackt wird, ist es eine Frechheit mir einen unförmigen Klumpen Alufolie hinzulegen, sogar mit Loch. Es gibt Papppackungen und Beutel.
So verspielt man sich das Trinkgeld — ich habe seit Jahren immer überall Trinkgeld gegeben — aber gestern Abend ist mir das vergangen. — Sehr schade!

What a lovely place. Might be one of my top 3 places I’ve ever been to in Berlin. Even though the Buffalo Mozzarella with tomatoes I’ve had there was somehow pretty bland, the quality of the house wine, the pizza and the general atmosphere was SO worth it.
Can this please become a franchise that just replaces all the Pizza Hut restaurants everywhere in the world?

Hat den Charme einer original italienischen Trattoria zur Mittagszeit. Voll, laut, hektisch. Die Kellner sind im Dauer-​Stress und daher manchmal etwas kurz angebunden. Die Einrichtung ist mediterran-​verranzt und zweckmäßig, wie es in Italien (oder auch manchmal im Friedrichshain) eben so ist. Oft wird man auch einfach mit anderen Leuten zusammen am Tisch platziert, weil einfach ständig jemand noch einen Tisch braucht. Daher schon mal ungeeignet für die gepflegte und stundenlange Konversation bei einem Glas Wein. Man kommt, bestellt, isst und trinkt, und hat dann den Tisch wieder zu räumen. Wer schon mal in Italien in weniger touristischen Gebieten zusammen mit der arbeitenden Bevölkerung zu Mittag gegessen hat, dem dürfte das meiste bekannt vorkommen. Auch das Essen ist ziemlich authentisch, wobei die Pizzen dort so lecker sind, dass ich noch nie Pasta probiert habe. Alles in allem gibt es in Berlin vereinzelt Läden, die noch bessere Pizza backen, aber das Il Ritrovo ist schon sehr nah an der Perfektion. Und wer die Atmosphäre zu schätzen weiß, der genießt den Trubel und freut sich schon auf den nächsten Besuch.

Excellent Prosciutto pizza! The mixed salad is big and the half liter of wine for 7 euro is a great deal! We had great food and service and enjoyed people-​watching while sitting on the street. The restaurant was busy!

Mehrfach hochgelobte Pizzeria, die mich leider enttäuscht hat. Im typischen Friedrichshainstil ist die Einrichtung bunt gemischt. Alte, abgewetzte Möbel, bunte Farben, wackelnde Tische und eine sehr flapsige Bedienung. Lächeln und Freundlichkeit wird hier wohl nicht groß geschrieben.
Die Speisekarte verwunderte mich etwas. Salate links, Pizza rechts, Getränke auf der Rückseite. Die Pastaangebote stehen separat an der Wandtafel. Wer draußen sitzt, muss entweder kurz reingehen oder eben «nur» aus Pizza wählen. Das Angebot an Pizza ist jedoch sehr reichhaltig und eine gute Kombination aus Wurst– und Gemüsebelag.
Die Pizza wirkt gigantisch, da sie von allen Seiten über den Rand des Tellers rakt. Allerdings ist der Teig extrem dünn und zerfällt unter der Last von Käse und Belag. Der Teig an sich gemackslos und die Pizza sehr sparsam gelegt. Auf einer Pizza Diavola befanden sich 7 kleine Scheibchen Salami und 5 Oliven. Nein danke, da kenne ich bessere Pizzen.

Wer eine richtige Pizza in lebhafter Atmosphäre haben möchte, ist hier genau richtig!
Wenn es voll ist (und das ist es Abends sehr oft) kann schon mal etwas Hektik aufkommen, das Personal ist aber stets bemüht und auch wenn die Leute Schlange stehen, geht man auf Fragen und Wünsche ein. Sicherlich haben Kellner aber auch mal schlechte Tage …
Die Pizzen sind erstklassig. Habe bisher noch keine besseren in Berlin gegessen. Empfehlenswert sind auch die Muscheln oder der Tiramisu! Pasta konnte ich noch nicht probieren, da die Pizzen einfach zu gut sind … Und das Ambiente? Rustikal und eine gewisse Geräuchkulisse (sei es das italienische Zurufen der Kellner untereinander oder das Grundrauschen der Gäste) muss man abkönnen. Aber das macht das Lokal auch so sympatisch!
Auch wenn die Kellner ab und an etwas freundlicher sein könnten ;), eine absolute Empfehlung!
Ps: Zur Mittagszeit ist es nicht so überlaufen!

This is the second pizzeria, which I visited during my first steps in Berlin.
I was impressed, despite that here is always a large crowd and loud.
The whole Italia.
But recently, something horribly went wrong, it is no longer the same taste of pizza, even if they are the same ingredients, but something is wrong.
At times it was so loud I could not hear my thoughts, not to mention the company at the table.
So I declare a temporary break.

Trotz sehr gut besuchtem Lokal nahm sich der Kellner die Zeit uns eine Pizza/​ein Nudelgericht zu empfehlen. Wir mussten nur 20min auf unsere Essen warten und es wahr sehr sehr lecker und vor allem frisch !

Bei Gerichten wie Pizza, die irgendwie allgegenwärtig sind, mit denen wir alle quasi aufgewachsen sind, neigt man dazu zu denken man kenne sie alle.
Was soll man bei einer Pizza auch großartig falsch machen? Nachdem man allerdings eine Pizza im Il Ritrovo gegessen hat, fallen einem plötzlich zig Möglichkeiten ein.
Der Teig der Pizza ist hauchdünn, dennoch ist sie saftig. Sie ist so riesig, dass sie nicht mal auf die riesigen Teller passt, auf denen sie serviert wird und die Auswahl scheint nahezu unbegrenzt.
In dem hippen, rustikalem Ambiente sitzt man zwischen Familien, lauten Cliquen, älteren Ehepaaren und Hipstern. Original italienisch bedeutet hier auch mal etwas forsch, schnippisch und hektisch. Das verzeiht man dem Personal aber gern, denn im Großen und Ganzen macht das den Charme des Lokals aus. Die rot-​weiß karierten Decken haben hier und da Riesenlöcher, was ich in diesem Fall bereit bin als Flair abzutun. Denn hier ist nicht nur die Pizza herausragend, sondern auch die Pasta und Nachspeisen, für die man zugegebenermaßen nach dem Essen keinen Platz mehr hat.
Das Il Ritrovo hat zudem zwei Ableger in Kreuzberg (Il Casolare) und Prenzlauer Berg (I Due Forni). Die Preise sind gut. Besonders trifft das auf den Wein zu, wo die Karaffe randvoll gemacht wird. Keine Zahlung mit Karte! Am besten reservieren.
Ganz egal was Sie vom rustikalem Chick oder dem etwas rabiaten Personal halten, Sie werden es nicht bereuen die Pizza probiert zu haben.

Hier gibt es leckere Pizza in lebhafter Atmosphäre. Reservieren sollte man abends auf jeden Fall, ansonsten wird es schwer einen der begehrten Tische zu ergattern. Pizza Incredible ist ein Traum. Noch viele weitere möchte ich probieren.
Die Preise sind in Ordnung. Die Sitzmöglichkeiten sind einfach, das Ambiente ist nicht schick. An den Wänden sind viele Poster und auch von außen sieht es nicht gerade einladend aus :-) aber: das Essen (es gibt fast ausschließlich Pizza; auch mit Pferdefleisch) und die Atmosphäre sind gut.
Negativ sind die vielen Gerüche und Dämpfe aufgrund der offenen Küche sowie das teilweise etwas freundlicher zu wünschende Personal. Nach einem Besuch kann man nicht verheimlichen, dass man Essen war :-)
Mein Fazit sind für das Essen 5 Sterne, für das Drumherum 3 Sterne. Macht zusammen richtig gute 4 von 5 Sternen.

Italienisches #Lebensgefühl und #Ambiente mitten in #Berlin #Friedrichshain (#Fhain). Freundliche Bedienung und sehr leckeres #Essen. Die große Auswahl an #Pizze ist #italienisch-#authentisch und so sonst selten in Berlin zu finden. Für all jene, die es etwas scharf und pikant mögen, kann ich nur die #Pizza #Piccantissima belegt mit #Peperoncino sowie pikanter Salami & pikantem Provolone empfehlen. Sehr #lecker!

Mein Freund und ich waren etwas spazieren und kehrten ganz spontan in dieses Lokal ein. Wir suchten uns einen Platz und warteten auf den Kellner, der auch prompt zur Stelle war. Mir fehlte der Charme in diesem Laden. Die Wände sind willkürlich zugekleistert mit irgendwelchem Scheiß. Als ich aufs WC wollte, musste ich suchen, da die Beschilderung durch die ganzen Aufkleber untergegangen sind. Die Tischdecken waren kaputt und es ist extrem laut in dem Lokal. Gemütlich ist anders! Als wir aufgegessen hatten, kam auch prompt der Kellner und brachte ungefragt die Rechnung. Die Begründung war, er brauch den Platz. Das einzige was wirklich gut war, war die Pizza. Auch wenn bei meiner Begleitung die Hälfte auf der Pizza fehlte. Kurzum, nie wieder dort!!!

This place is a BLAST. Had to wait a couple minutes, it was super busy. After that, service was prompt and very friendly. Pizza was amazing, so so good. We almost ordered another on the spot. Pasta was all very fresh and delicious. Fair prices for everything. At the end of the meal, our server gave us free grappa shots, unsolicited. Eating here was one of the highlights of our trip.

Very nice place which immediately welcomes you with a warm smell of Parmesan when you enter. It seems to be quite full every day and a bit loud but the atmosphere is very «italic» nonetheless.
The pizza was very nice and big (bigger than the plate) although a bit cold pretty fast.
I was a bit sad to see there are also other kind of dishes available but not on the menu, just a board on the wall, so I didn’t know about them. Otherwise definitely worth a visit!

Oh, I love this place. When you enter the door and you are hit by the heat and the noise, it feels really like being in Italy. Be aware that the great pizza come also with an extra loud location (it´s probably easy to text someone to the other side of the table than be able to ear what is/she´s saying) and very moody service. So this is not something for all. But if you like excellent food and relaxed location, you´ll fall in love with this place too.

The Best pizza in Berlin. Definitely.
It’s not cheap, that’s for sure, and they usually let you cut your own salad (which is somewhere between funny and humiliating), but it’s by far the best pizza around.

My companion took me here last night for pizza. This is a pizzeria, run by Italians. They also serve other stuff aside from pizza, but those are very minimal and vary depending on the season. You can find those written at the board. So better go here if pizza is all you want.
I ordered the Buon Gustaio, which consists of tomatoes, basil, mozzarella, and bresaola. It was very authentic, and overall, a very good pizza in my opinion. I also ordered a beer, although they also have house wine.
Let me talk about the décor and the ambiance. This place isn’t fancy at all. The walls have graffiti all over it. The restrooms look like a maze, and if you cannot find the very obscure labels indicating which one is male and which one is female, then good luck. And when you get out of the correct room, you don’t know which direction is out.
Overall, I wouldn’t mind going back to this place, since they offer really good pizzas. However, I don’t think I would go all the way out to Friedrichshain to eat pizza here. As it is, I also know other places nearer to home that serve equally good pizzas, and this place doesn’t give the extra oomph to make the long trip all the way here.

It is always busy here. Wine is not really good but I guess that’s not why would one visit this place anyway. Not much choice on the menu except for various pizzas. We went with a big group and everyone’s pizza was really really tasty. The dough is thin and there is more than enough topping. For the ladies pizza was even a bit too big, some of us had to give the end of it to the guys. It was valentines day and they were serving pizzas in the shape of a heart which was a nice little extra :-)

Amazing pizza every time. I find myself always going back to fulfill my pizza craving. The place is lively and sometimes packed. Friendly staff for the most part. I was asked to move from my table for a larger group, for doing so I was given a free shot of grappa.

The atmosphere is really nice when you sit there and have a little chat with your friends, the waiters should definitely work on their service skills.
The prices are ok, the food is ok, the pizza was good (and I don’t even like pizza) but I was a bit upset from my pasta which looked like sth I could easily make home, and stayed hungry afterwards.

I go here, or order from here, every time I’m in Berlin. My brother lives, quite literally, right around the corner. We’ve only eaten in once, but it was quite the time.
The interior is pretty cool with exposed brick and much art of various revolutionary organizations, e.g., Che Guevara. Wait staff are great, friendly, native Italian speakers, and especially good with kids (my brother has two and they can be quite the handful). Stereotypical red-​and-​white-​checked table clothes, candle on the table. It can be noisy.
The crusts are uniformly thin and crispy (if you ask for it that way). The sauce is absolutely phenomenal: Piquant, sweet, and SO fresh, with just a hint of garlic. They may actually make the best tomato sauce I’ve ever had on a pizza.
The menu is lengthy, but my two favorites are the pie with bresaola and fresh basil and the other with potatoes and rosemary. I can’t say enough good things about their food.
It can be crowded, very, so it pays to come early. And if you can’t eat in, just order it to go.
Again, I make it a point to come here every time I’m in town. It’s worth the 8 hour flight.

I am so upset, I felt like having their chocolate mousse today. I phoned to ask if they had it today, they said yes. I travelled the hour from Schöneberg and upon ordering it he said, we don’t sell desserts on their own, they have to be accompanied with food. He started to tell me he’s the boss but that doesn’t matter, this idiotic policy is the problem.

OK guys, let’s be real.
Simplement la meilleure pizza que j’aie jamais mangé. L’Incredible — comme son nom le dit si bien — était parfaite. C’est un peu cher pour Berlin (9 euros la pizza), et certes, le décor et le service pourraient être améliorés. Mais ça vaut le détour.

I was showing visiting friends around on a Sunday night and was seated right away, even though there was four of us.
The food –we all ended up ordering the pizzas, eggplant, mozzarella, and one with ham or bacon. One pizza is easily enough for two, and the salad that someone ordered was fairly large as well, big enough for two people. You do have to cut and prepare the salad yourself though, which can be a pro and con. It was 8 euros for the pizza I split with my friend, and it was well worth it. The menu had tons of options, at least 20 if I remember correctly in terms of pizza topping combinations.
The décor was very punky-​artsy-​cool and the walls had plenty to look.
As most of the people I was with didn’t speak German, the waiter accommodated them in English and while very to-​the-​point and direct, I could tell that he was doing his best, especially laden with at least 4 sizable tables. I ended up tipping an extra Euro because having been a waitress I could tell he was still taking his time with giving recommendations to us and being generally a positive experience.
Would come again if I had a pizza craving.

Le Ritrovo, c’est un lieu incontournable quand on passé une soirée à Friedrichshain. Le lieu est à l’image du quartier: jeune, cosmopolite, sans prise de tête, il invite à la fête. Les pizzas sont bonnes sans toucher l’excellence, le service est expéditif car beaucoup d’affluence, et le cadre est très sympa et vivant. On vient plus ici pour l’atmosphère endiablée que pour la nourriture. En d’autres termes, c’est pas ici qu’on va s’ennuyer ! Beaucoup de choix et prix doux.

Authentic northern-​Italian home-​cooking style food at decently good prices.
I come here mostly because my roommate who is from Milan vouches for it’s authenticity. What’s important to note about most restaurants you go to (especially the asian ones) are that the menu has all been germanified.
Here it actually tastes like Italian food. Your pizzas will be on point, and this past weekend I ordered a pasta and was a bit shocked at how big my portion was. (of course this will vary depending on which pasta you order). The pasta is quite good.
I haven’t been to the other locations, but if you want a very low key casual environment and good food, then come here. It’s not fancy, not overdone, not touristy, not really romantic– it’s a good hang out place for people from all over.
Plus. grappa or limoncello at the end of your meal ;)

One of the best pizzas in Berlin and I have been to some (it is the sister-​restaurant of Due Forni in P’berg which has almost the same menu).
Table reservations during the weekend is a must, expect waiting time regardless.
No English menu (only Italian/​German), but you’ll manage even some of the waiters do not speak German.
Regarding the service (or the Italian version of service): Well, for them [the staff] you basically a disturbance (but hey, they have great pizza, so suck it).

Best pizza place in the neighborhood (Friedrichshain).
I feel that the best one of these restaurants is the one is XBerg. I have always had mixed experiences here. I don’t like the décor personally and its really really hot on the side of the restaurant with the kitchen, which can get uncomfortable. The pizza is ok, I guess it really depends on what you get. Being a vegetarian, I have had a pretty decent experience. You can really tell that this is a «real» Italian joint. Plus, the servings are huge. I usually come here with friends who are picky eaters. It’s pizza, its hard not to like, and everyone is happy– even the vegans.
I wouldn’t recommend the pasta. Although the sauces are good, the pasta is straight from the box as another commentator mentioned– you might as well eat at home.
For desert I really enjoy a limoncello and panna cotta. mmmm…

On my first night in Berlin, I ate at II Ritrovo-​Cucina Casalinga Popolare. It does not sound very typical German, does it? ;)
One star for the place: One you get in front of the place, you have to climb some stairs to reach the terrace. There is a little green area, not to call it a garden, but children enjoy playing there. The terrace is really big and every inch of it is covered in tables and chairs. Then you reach the restaurant.
One star for the people: This is a very special kind of waiters we are talking about. There are all italians and wear very punky outfits. They also have piercings, tattooes and terrific hairstyles. It seems that this is a requisit to be employed here ! On top of that they are very nice and fast.
One star for the food: I took a four seasons pizza. First of all it was huge ! In Germany, whatever you order, you know that it will be worth your money sizewise. Then, it was delicious ! I highly recommend this one.
One star for the style: It is a very friendly restaurant and you feel like staying forever just enjoying the food and relaxing.
Anything else to add? I did not rate a five star here because I have just tasted one pizza. So that means I will have to come back before the end of my stay. If you are around before the 28^th August 2011, we can even go together XD

Je né rejoins pas totalement Archib: pour avoir testé celui de Prenzlauer berg, j’ai mieux mangé là-​bas (à friederishchain les pizzas étaient trop cuites, et ils étaient en rupture de pas mal d’ingrédients). Idem pour le service: en arrivant tôt c’était tout à fait correct à prenzlauer berg alors que là les serveurs étaient d’entrée mal aimables (pour pas dire franchement désagréables)…
Au final, je recommanderais plutôt de pousser 3 rues plus loin jusque chez Gaststätte Trattoria, Libauer Str. 10.
Les tarifs y sont équivalents, les pizzas aussi bonnes voire meilleures et le service correct malgré une clientèle aussi nombreuse.

Je connaissais celui de prenzlauer berg, bonnes pizza mais service scandaleusement mauvais;

Certes le service pourrait être un chouilla plus friendly mais il est très efficace (certes on était là en semaine), et la serveuse est mignonne, en plus.
D’ailleurs, on a eu un petit digestif offert par la maison, c’était bien.
