Buffalo Steakhaus

Reservation was canceled for no reason so we have to seat at other people’s table. Three euro were charged for simple glass of hot water, the most expensive in the whole world. Steak were OK for the price. Service was poor consider the price they charge. We will never go back again. I wonder how they get four stars of all the restaurants in Frankfurt.

I went to Buffalo for my birthday dinner last night. The filet was cooked to perfection. They cook all of their steaks «medium». I ordered the baked potato as a side and it was cooked really well as well. It comes with a heaping serving of sour cream, so be prepared for that. Overall it was a really good meal with a great atmosphere. I highly recommend this location if you are in Frankfurt.

Das war gestern ein voller Erfolg, wir wollten noch zünftig Fleisch essen gehen und haben einen der letzten freien Plätze ergattert.
Das Ribeye war auf den Punkt gebraten und das Filet auch entsprechend des Extra Wunsches etwas mehr durch, war genau so gut.
Es hat alles gepasst, die Bedienung ist freundlich und schnell.
Aus diesem Grund volle Punktzahl und ich werde sicher wiederkommen, dann aber mit reserviertem Tisch ;)

This is one of the BEST steakhouse I have been to in Germany! Better than any other steakhouse any day. Very homey not a chain feel like other steak houses. Steak was grilled to perfection cut like butter.

Lecker. Manchmal etwas zu durch, wenn man sagt medium. Aber lecker. Sehr lecker.
Bedienung ist zünftig drauf. Manche von denen brauchen Druck.

I called at 5pm on a Thursday to make reservations, and although they were fully booked for the evening, the manager said he could squeeze us in at 6:45 until 8pm. I hadn’t had a proper meal all day, and after reading all the reviews, I was very looking forward to eating here.
I ordered the marinated rib-​eye, corn on a cob, and a baked potato with sour cream. I’m from California and I’ve dined at pretty much every high end steak house there is. If there was a Mastros or Flemings next door to Buffalo steakhouse, I would have chosen Buffalo. It was amazing. I’ve also been to the best steakhouses in Buenos Aires and this was just as good, if not better.
I’m very happy they made room for us to dine. This review is fully deserved. Two thumbs up!

Sehr sehr gut !!! Tolle Steaks, sehr nette Bedienung. War schon in vielen Steakhäusern in Frankfurt und dieses gehört zu den wirklich guten, Preisleistung stimmt hier auch. Wir waren an einem Samstagabend ohne Reservierung da, haben trotzdem ein nettes Plätzchen bekommen.

Fleischqualität über jeden Zweifel erhaben. Aber das Verhalten des «Juniorchef» ist gewöhnungsbedürftig (milde ausgedrückt). Eigentlich müsste ich noch einen Stern abziehen, weil der Grill elektrisch beheizt wird und es keinen Hozkohlengrill gibt. Ist für ein Steakhaus normalerweise ein No-​Go.

The steak was good the sides were adequate. The service was abismal. The owner was an out of touch out of class ignorant man that had no respect for his guests.

leider haben sich die preise ordentlich erhöht, das trübt den genuss ein wenig. was mir auch nicht verständlich ist, warum beim menü der tausch zwischen pommes und kartoffel 2,50 € kostet, das verhälnis scheint mir zu hoch.
Dennoch, wir kommen immer wieder gerne — schon wegen des unschlagbaren chimichouries!

Stopped here for dinner in Frankfurt. Great Argentine style steak. I had the ribeye and do did the son. Grilled corn on the cob was excellent. Overall very good dining experience.
If you’re looking for a decent steak in Frankfurt, this is where you need to go.

Absolut einwandfreies Steakhaus mit sehr guter Fleisch– und Beilagenqualität.
Service auch vollkommen in Ordnung im Buffalo’s.

Definitely my favorite steakhouse in Frankfurt! A lot of people seem to agree too as it’s always crowded when we go. The wait staff are so friendly that they always accommodate us even without reservations.
Ultimately, the star in this review is their fabulous steak. By default it is cooked medium, which is perfectly pink if you let it rest a little — which I must say is torturous as you can smell the beefy grilled goodness from a mile away. It is also so perfectly seasoned, no «steak sauce» is necessary at all. I like my food spicy and their homemade hot sauce/​salsa is a fave! It tastes a little weird at first if you try to eat it with the free bread slices that it comes with, but with the steak, the combination is divine!!! Pair it woth buttered, seasoned, and grillef corn on a cob and you’ll have a glorious meal.

If you’re looking for a great steak in Frankfurt– look no further. I’m from the U.S. and I have to say this is one of the best steaks I’ve ever had. Tender, quality meat and good service! They do accept credit cards but they have an old machine that requires you to engrave the card into a paper. So, if you have a credit card that does not have 3D numbers– bring cash!

Eines der besten Rip Eyes, die ich jemals aß. Esst den Maiskolben. Nehmt Tisch 7!!! Absolut empfehlenswert!

Fabulous steak — sirloin, rib eye — you name it. Locals proclaim this officially the city’s best slab of cow and I can see why!
For around 20 euros you can get melt-​in-​your-​mouth flavorful tenderness, seasoned and grilled to your liking. Something of this quality would easily run you 45 in a white table cloth steak place. They grill it exactly how you want it, German precision at it’s finest. I believe this calls for more German chefs in the (steak)haus!
The waiter was exceedingly helpful and service was very quick. The other qualities of the restaurant were negligible — the simple décor and the fact that nothing is overpriced helps feature their *prime* asset. The salad that I had with my meal and the side salad ordered by our lovely host/​companion both had this strange creamy cocktail sauce slathered onto it, which I found pleasant in taste but slightly overpowering in quantity and certainly now what I expected on what I envisioned to be a healthier, lighter green salad.
We would have gone back the next day but for the fact that it is closed on Sundays. But we almost stayed until Monday just for that steak. Ja, das ist gut.

Steakhäuser gibt es in Frankfurt wirklich viele und alle sind immer gut besucht.
Das Buffalo Steakhouse liegt etwas versteckt. Ich empfehle es nicht für einen schönen, gemütlichen Abend sondern eher für den schnellen Mittagstisch.
Die Atmosphäre ist doch eher hektisch und man sitzt sehr eng und weniger gemütlich.
Das Steak ist große Klasse und auch die Beilagen und Soßen sind lecker. Das Preis-​Leistungsverhältnis ist ok. Die Bedienung aufmerksam.
Man sollte in jedem Fall unbedingt reservieren.

Steak hatte einen bitteren Beigeschmack, war teilweise verbrannt/​verkohlt. Die Location ist nicht mehr zeitgemäß, da sollte der Betreiber bei Gelegenheit umbauen/​umdekorieren. Service durchschnittlich, Personal sollte mal einen Benimmkurs absolviern.
All in all: Gerade noch akzeptabel, jedes Maredo ist besser. Und das ist wahrlich kein Lob.

I always try to come here whenever I visit Frankfurt. The service is impeccable and the meats are fantastic. It’s often hard to get good steak in Europe (I guess the cows aren’t as fatty) but the meat here is amazing. Always try and make a reservation or go early or late as they are almost always busy on every day of the week. It’s also a little hidden so you may have to be patient when going there for first time. But it will be worth the hassle.

Excellent steaks grilled to perfection! Amazing quality of the meat! You don’t need a knife so tender it is! And the sides hmmm the corn is well grilled and their homemade bbq sauce is a dream! Absolutely the first address to go to for a steak! I’d go so far as to say best in town!

Nicht zu empfehlen, da man die Steaks die bei uns auf den Tisch kamen verkohlt hatte.

Es geht so; der erste Kellner hat den Eindruck gemacht als sei er betrunken oder unter Drogen.
Das Essen
Wir werden auf keinen Fall wieder in’s Buffalo gehen. Dort weiß man nicht wie Fleisch zu grillen ist. Beide Steaks waren zu etwa der halben Oberfläche verbrannt, richtig verkohlt. Ich habe mein Gericht sofort zurück gehen lassen. Man bot keinen Ersatz an und behauptete gegrilltes Fleisch wäre so. Mein Sohn hat an seinem Steak die verkohlten Stellen abgeschnitten und den Rest gegessen. Durch die verkohlten Stellen hat das Steak bitter geschmeckt. Durch diese Art des Grillens entsteht Benzpyren, eine stark krebserzeugende Chemikalie. Solches Fleisch ist für den Verzehr nicht geeignet.
Das Ambiente
Das Ambiente war in Ordnung. Man hat sich bemüht den Tisch freundlich zu gestalten.

BEST steak ever! Other than that, it’s nothing exceptional. Restaurant is NOT air conditioned, so be aware. Service is pretty slow. Staff was congenial for the most part.

Ich habe für mich und meine Begleitung für den 05.07.2014 einen Tisch reserviert gehabt. Als wir um 21:00 Uhr ankamen bekamen wir sofort unseren Platz zugewiesen und nahmen Platz. Keine Minute ist vergangen, schon war die Bedienung mit den Speisekarten bei uns und sprach die Tagesempfehlung aus. Nachdem wir bestellt haben war das Essen binnen 15 Minuten am Tisch. Das beste Steak, dass ich seit Jahren gegessen habe.
Resonanz:
— Die Bedienung ist der Wahnsinn. Sehr kundenorientiert.
— Die Preise sind nicht das Günstigste, jedoch jeden Cent wert.
— Die Location ist sehr schön. Von der Dekoration des Tisches bis zum Gesamtprodukt
— Die Atmosphäre ist sehr entspannt und man kann sich ruhig mit einander unterhalten.
Im Endeffekt hat sich der Besuch im Buffalo Steakhaus sehr gelohnt.

Had big expectations based on reviews, but left with a huge led down. Came at 10pm (1 hour before close) and was refused by very impolite host, who said kitchen was closed even though there were guests in the house and steaks on the grill.
Probably good food, but service is horrible.

Für uns die absolute Topadresse in Frankfurt wenn man Steak Essen gehen möchte. Die Qualität ist stets hervorragend, der Service leicht arrogant aber dennoch souverän und lustig, genau so wie es sein muss. Das Preis-​Leistungs-​Verhältnis ist bei der Qualität der Speisen sowie der zentralen Lage ebenfalls absolut top, wir kommen gern immer wieder ins Buffalo!

Kurzfristig noch einen Tisch bekommen, das Restaurant für Steaks schlechthin in Frankfurt.
Ohne viel Schnickschnack, gutes Preis-​Leistungs-​Verhältnis.
Tolles Steak, leckere Beilagen, schneller Service

Gute Steaks, immer auf dem Punkt gegrillt, Einrichtung na ja etwa wie ein Eiscafe, Personal ist lang eingesessen und kennt jeden seiner Gäste, freundlich, immer witzig. Sehr Zentral.

Das Fleisch ist super.
Der Service könnte freundlicher sein, ist aber akzeptabel.

Steakhäuser sind ja in den vergangenen Jahren bevor die Burger Welle kam in Frankfurt wie Pilze aus dem Boden geschossen. Da kann man das Buffalo schon zu den Traditionshäusern zählen, angeblich seit 1973 in Frankfurt, aber ich kann mcih daran nicht mehr erinnern.
Wenn ich jedoch Appetit auf gute Steaks in der Innenstadt habe dann gehe ich hier hin. Die mit M. beginnende Steakkette ein paar Schritte weiter ist keine Alternative, auch nicht wenn man Hunger auf Steak hat!
Der Service ist nicht gerade ein Beispiel für Freundlichkeit, aber daran gewöhnt man sich und schliesslich soll man den Kellner nicht heiraten sondern hier sein Steak essen.
Das Preisniveau finde ich völlig ok, ein 300g Rumpsteak für 20.- da kenne ich nur Lokale ausserhalb Frankfurts, den einen oder anderen Geheimtip oder den heimischen Grill um das zu toppen.
Spontane Besuche sind manchmal in dieser Steakoase schwierig, da reservieren oft notwendig ist.

Buff. Every banker and broker in Frankfurt knows them well. Excellent steaks, good red wines, crap service, ugly ambiance. That’s it in a nutshell. The brusk service is part of the show. Fact is, the steaks are always spot-​on perfect which excuses everything else. As much as I think the new owner (Junior) is a bit of a twerp, fact is they have the best steaks in Frankfurt.

Update: Ich war am 16.05. wieder mal in Frankfurt und wieder im Buffallo. Nachdem das RibEye diesmal keine Sehnen hatte erhöhe ich auf 5 Sterne. Die Kellner sind schon etwas kautzig, das stört mich hier aber nicht, bzw. finde ich eher lustig, weil es zum Konzept passt. Ich kann aber verstehen, dass es manche Leute nervt.

Ich war gestern mit einem Kollegen im Buffalo. Es war rundum ein gelungener Abend. Der Service war sehr aufmerksam, das Fleisch sehr gut gegrillt. Die schon mehrfach beschriebene Sauce hat mir ebenfalls sehr gut geschmeckt, weil sie ziemlich scharf war, was ich gerne mag. Die Einrichtung ist tatsächlich nicht gerade modern oder gar stylisch, aber das trägt auch zum Charme des Buffalo bei. Die Preise finde ich angemessen oder sogar eher günstig. Ich ziehe einen Stern ab, weil mein RibEye etwas zu viele Sehnen hatte.

Bis auf die immer etwas grantelnden Kellner und den etwas hochnäsigen Juniorchef ist das Buffalo immer eine Empfehlung.
Fleisch immer von bester Qualität und Top gegrillt, Knoblauchbrot knusprig und der Hammer ist die hausgemachte Steaksouce, welche zum Fleisch gereicht wird.
Weinauswahl sehr gut, vor allem bei den Rotweinen.
Und vor allem sind die Preise, entgegen einiger Mitbewerber des Buffalo in Frankfurt/​M. sehr fair kalkuliert.
Jetzt noch etwas mehr Freundlichkeit und es wäre fast unschlagbar.

Für mich das beste Preis-​Leistungs-​Verhältnis was Steaks angeht in Frankfurt.
Fleisch war super, auf den Punkt gegrillt und die Kartoffel mit Sour Cream war korrekt.
Hier wird nicht mit dem Brot geknausert und die scharfe Spezialsauce finde ich spitze. Der Service war schnell und korrekt, nicht obersuperfreundlich, aber es war auch sehr voll zum Lunch und fühlte mich gut behandelt. Da gehe ich gerne immer wieder hin, wenn ich ein wirklich gutes Steak zu einem angemessenen Preis essen möchte.

Sehr gutes Fleisch zu akzeptablen Preisen, dazu sehr guten Wein etc.
In Frankfurt eine gute Wahl für Carnivoren.
