Marshall Matt also known as Marshall Bar
This place is a «trendy» and «fancy» place. The vibe that its suppose to give off is a fine gentleman’s bar. They have a large selection of fine whiskys and gins, as well as a full normal bar and coffee/​café choices. Let me describe two things about this place everyone should know.
Staff:
My friends and I (comprised of half Germans and half of us from the states or other countries) have come here three times as a group. The waitresses have never given us a problem (besides a few times being a bit rude (bur normal level of German rude with no customer service) perhaps because they were busy and stressed (this place gets pretty packed on a weekend evening). HOWEVER, the staff behind the bar. All times we have went it has been two guys primarily working behind the bar. I can not even begin to describe how terrible the service was and how rude the workers are. With out going into a huge in depth rant about how terrible our experience was, let me just bullet point and summarize (all instances the bartenders spoke English to us).
–After waiting for what was almost a half hour for one drink, then making the wrong drink entirely and serving to us at the bar, and upon paying, the bartender asked us «what about the tip?». And after asking for clarity on the question the bartender continued to explain how «normally people tip the bartender».
–After a friend who was a male ordered a piña colada, the bartender proceeded with a smirk in asking our friend if he was gay. And stated that a piña colada is a very gay and women drink. Then again asked our friend, if was gay. This bartender was simply rude, and clearly focusing on the women around when taking orders.
These are just two examples of the terrible experience we have had. Perhaps it was because we were speaking and ordering in English, but this should never be a reason to be treated this way. We are all friendly individuals. Save yourself the anger and frustrations and don’t come here.
Smoking:
If you are a smoker this place is for you. I am not a smoker and can not stand coming here. Not only is smoking allowed but this bars ventilation is not the best. You can see the cloud of smoke exit a persons mouth and linger. There always seems to be a haze of smoke lingering in the entire bar, and the next day everything is guaranteed to reek of smoke.
Add both of these factors together with the fact that on weekend nights its completely uncomfortably crowded, and you are lucky to find a space with your friends, this place is definitely not one of my go to places.
A few of my friends in our group are big smokers and because of them we have tried this place a few times, but because of the most recent last times (multiple instances) and the way the staff treated us and our friends, we have collaboratively decided as a group to not return.
Marshall Matt/​Bar definitely not coming back.

Die Marshall Matt hieß ja früher Marshall Bar und war früher in der Bolzstraße. Eine gelungene Mischung aus Marshall Bar und Mezzanin ist nun das Marshall Matt.
Das Ambiente ist sehr gemütlich und die Getränkeauswahl sucht in Stuttgart seines gleichen. Ich habe dort das erste Mal einen japanischen Whisky getrunken. Ich finde es auch cool das man dort rauchen kann. Es gibt in Stuttgart ja gerade noch eine Hand voll Bars in denen man das kann.
Personal ist sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Der Cappuccino und der Eistee (Pfirsich) sind nur zu empfehlen.
Weiter so!!!

Die Bedienung war extrem unaufmerksam und träge. Das Glas was ich bekommen habe war zudem schmutzig. Und die Getränkekarte (Speisen gibt’s hier eh keine, da Raucherkneipe) total versifft.

Neu renoviert, nettes Ambiente. Ich habe es bisher nie überfüllt erlebt, weshalb man hier auch schön seine Ruhe haben kann. Für Raucher geeignet. Die Preise sind Stuttgarter Standart, die Auswahl könnte etwas größer sein. Als ich letztens dort war hatten sie nur 1 Sorte Bionade da.
Trotz allem gehe ich gerne hin, wenn ich in Stuttgart bin.
