Very nice off the main walk bar with helpful and friendly baristas. Rum and coke zero was small but packed a punch! Tasty nibbles on tortillas — pork and the salmon with lime were favorites. The company Gemma, Anita D., Saffron, John D., Susie C. et. al, made the evening immensely enjoyable. Loved meeting the elite Unilocal members!

One of the great new Restaurant/Bars tucked along Peel Street. If you are into Mezcal/Mexican. Do it at least once. I know I’ll be back. As well as some really tasty and fresh Mezca/Mexican flavoured food(ceviche, soft corn tacos etc) they do some wicked cocktails Mex-spresso Matini anyone? MMMM

Oh wow! Tonight we had the inaugural Unilocal dinner club at Chihuahua and what a fun experience! I finally got to come back and enjoy the delicious food(soft shell tacos with beautiful smoked salmon, others with pulled pork, delicious fresh tasting ceviche). The salsa and guacamole were beautiful and all the cocktails looking lovely. This dinner coupled with the balmy, warm evening was a true delight. Go for a bite to eat and something to drink, you will have a lovely Mexican themed evening.

Mescal. It is either your friend or foe. As for myself, we are friends. In fact, I would hug a bottle of mescal if it had arms. But instead, I go to Chihuahua Bar and taste it’s many varieties. Chihuahua Bar is located in one of the hottest streets town, Peel Street. But I feel like more people should stop at this bar. Not sure why it is sometimes missed? Behind all the pretty colours and young feel; there is some very knowledgeable staff and a damn fine collection of spirits from that famous maguey plant. The cocktail menu is extensive and you can see that the bar manager has had a little fun introducing mescal to some classic favourites like the«Old Fashioned». This beverage is traditionally made with Whiskey Bourbon or Brandy. As it is one of my faves and comfy drinks, I had to give it a whirl. And you know what? It works very nicely! It is not as sweet at the traditional Old Fashioned, but that is not a bad thing. You can taste the nectar background of the mescal. Love that flavour. I have yet to try some food here, but the menu looks well worth trying. Lot’s of Mexican faves! They often do themed nights here and have a Lunch Club going on. Be sure to check out their facebook for details. They bring in producers from around South Australia and put on big feasts. Sounds awesome right? If the upstairs bar is open, be sure to check it out. There is a lovely view from the windows of Peel Street. I can imagine myself sitting there is summer enjoying the view of the hustle in the street below. So, the moral is that this is not just your ordinary bar. There is a whole lot more going on!

A cute little mexican-themed bar with great style and great drinks. The cocktails are made well, although not a huge selection. I enjoyed my classic daiquiri. I wish there was some bar food on the menu to accompany the drinks, which were quite strong. If there was I didnt see any. Otherwise its a good place to go for after work or dinner drinks :-)

I’m working in the city again after a stint in the suburbs for 18 months … and look what has happened to Peel Street in the meantime!!! Peel Street has turned into Leigh Street, with cocktail bars galore, hipsters, tapas, etc. I came here with a couple of friends on a Friday night after dinner for a quick cocktail, since I had been admiring the frontage on my walk from the station during the day. Inside is a hipster’s dream — very ‘Dia de Muertos’ in flavour, though you get the feeling that it is for the aesthetic value rather than the spiritual ;) The cocktails are very creative, putting a Mexican spin on the traditional. I chose the Mex-spresso Martini, which was delicious. I took one star off, because one of the guys behind the bar was free to serve, but ignored me due to being too busy showing off his card game skills to some other people at the bar. I normally don’t mind waiting, but my friends already had their drinks, and there I was standing there. Luckily a friendly(and busy) girl behind the bar took pity and brought my drink over … We were in a bit of a hurry, but would have stayed longer if time permitted — the ambiance is great, and the drinks menu is vast. Cocktails are $ 18 though, but I guess this is average these days ;)

Just one of the many cool, neat bars popping up on the very trendy, well-established precinct in the city that is known as Peel Street. I went here with a few friends after dinner on a Thursday night and being a non-Friday/Saturday it was easy to get a spot inside though there are some nice outdoor seating as well. Atmosphere is really nice and décor is all really quirky and tastefully colourful; major bonus points on the nice atmosphere. Bar staff are cool, relaxed and really friendly with extensive knowledge on the selection of drinks available. Friends and I ended up getting a nice bottle of red upon the recommendation of one of the bar staff. i can’t remember the exact name of it but I was never really a big red wine fan until I tried this one. It quickly grew on me after a few glasses so thank you to the staff for this excellent recommendation! I saw on the menu that they also have tapas here and from other customers that night it looked good and seemed to be pretty popular. Would like to come back here again but on a Friday or Saturday night to see how the place lights up on a busier night.

Great little bar! Hidden Away, just across from clever little tailor on peel st. Bartender had a wicked mustache(always a plus) and made me a brilliant tequilla old fashioned. Delicious! Cute Mexican-ish décor, low lights, jazzy music, overall a great vibe and really great service.
