What a delicious surprise this was! Breakfast for 4 people brought about 4 happy customers. Generous servings, with a range of tasty options. Service was fast and friendly. Will return again soon!

Went for a quick lunch, was seated on a large reserved table by a waiter who looked like he really couldn’t be bothered with us. Took our order, got it wrong because he wasn’t listening! Waited an extra 20 minutes to make an easy chicken sandwich, which was very basic and not much chicken in it. Then got moved half way through my meal to another table. No-one came near us to check if we needed anything else. Needless to say will not be returning, food and service very poor!

To put it simply: This is the best café in Melbourne! You’ll come for the food, you’ll stay for the service. I would drive past 100 cafes to come here, and I do. :-)

Sometimes hard to find as this café is tucked in well to the row of shows at the top of Burwood Highway(Toorak Rd) between Burwood and Camberwell. Even with little car parking you can tell this place is popular as it always buzzing and depending on what time you visit it will be buzzing with very different aged crowds. The décor is interesting with a very old Camberwell feel on the inside, darkly lit and very wooden. Coffee is fantastic, and I have it on good authority(from over hearing table talk while waiting for my coffee) that the food is worth coming back for.

Lovely café with great food in taste and presentation. Friendly staff who went the extra mile. Has a very homey feel and decorated nicer with fragrant flowers. Worth the visit.

Ok, so maybe chocolate, date and almond meringue cake isn’t the most traditional of breakfast fare. Especially when it comes with a generous dollop of cream. But, hey, I had coffee with it, so that makes it morning food, right? Right? Santucci’s has some amazing food on offer, some brilliant coffee, and great staff. I’ve heard the staff turnover is very low, which says a lot about the working environment(I’ve worked in hospitality, it’s not a place one sticks out if they don’t enjoy showing up). My favourite thing, though, is the gluten-free cake options. It’s so nice to go somewhere and not have a basic orange and almond cake as choice one, followed by a Byron Bay cookie as choice two. Don’t get me wrong, I like them both, but it’s been done.
