Creatures of Habit is pretty sweet café. We love popping in every now and then to have a nice brekky(smushed avo with feta on grain toast) or pancakes with caramelised bananas are the usual repeats although their muffins and cakes and slices are delish too. The café also serves some really nice wraps and paninis too for lunch or a hearty breakfast along with a few bagel selections as well as standard hot brekafasts of eggs, bacon, sausages etc. Coffee and chai is pretty good. The staff are really friendly and service is prompt although it does get very busy so sometimes the wait times blow out a bit. The reason why: it’s the ONLY café in the entire Springvale Homemaker Centre!!! Apart from the café within Ikea, this is the only place that serves usual tasty café fare that’s open for breakfast and lunch time. This unfortunately reflects in the pricing– it’s a little on the higher side of standard café pricing. Perhaps this is also due to the lack of café competition but also hey, the quality of ingredients used is pretty good too. I’d still say, drop in for a coffee and cake whilst you decide on the next sofa or dining table. Because the food is good and the atmosphere is casual, clean and comfortable; really this place deserves 3 ½ stars but due to lack of competition to set it apart(Ikea café is NOT on the same level as the offerings are different) it’s a bit hard to rate it against another café. On nice days, do sit outside on the patio!
