They make fantastic cheese pies! They have friendly service too. The coffee beans they use are decent quality, but they often overdo the milk. Only a small gripe. It’s not the most comfortable place to sit and eat, but it’s okay.

A Middle Eastern bakery that serves food. This a a place that typifies Melbourne multi cultural dining. This an opportunity to eat good food at a great price of a middle easter style. There is a exceptional range of authentic middle eastern product, spices, dips, cakes/pastries to take home. For me the cheese pies are the specialty of the house. Be adventures take a trip to Dandenong and see a great range of food from all over the world; this is just one opportunity.

If you look at the front of the store. Look higher and you’ll probably notice the number 1 from A1 Bakery sign is missing. Look down and it looks like any average Dandenong shop. NOTWELLTHOUGHTTHROUGHINDESIGNORPRESENTATION. Yet they have amazing Baklavas in such a big range. There is all kind of Lebanese breads and pizzas, Middle Eastern spices galore, sherbets, syrups and more The shop is a hybrid of –Grocery store –Café($ 2.50 for an average coffee) –Bakery. So this shop really needs recognition for what it does beautifully. That is why the presentation of the shop only takes away one star.

If you’re after good Baklava in Dandenong, look no further! This place is just on the main road and worth dropping in to. They have a little café set up at the store where you can purchase coffee and baklava to eat in store(or you can takeaway). The hardest part is chosing which baklava to get as they all look so delicious! Coffee is cheap and pretty good, but be warned it is strong! You can also purchase a range of awesome middle eastern breads, pizzas and food to eat in store as well. I had the veggie pizza which was pretty tasty and i’ve also had the spinach and cheese bread which was delicious. The store also is a mini grocer, and has an array of spices, beans, pulses, canned vegetables and sauces that you cannot find at your local supermarket. I discovered pomegranate molasses from this store and it is so sweet and delicous, can use in salads, biscuits and stir fries. The staff are friendly and helpful, however the store can get really busy on the weekend, so don’t expect table service. Would totally recommend this bakery and i dare you to walk away with some baklava!
