Nevermind

Oh Sydney. You do show a different face than Melbourne does (but maybe that’s just because I was a visitor, and the boys could smell my fear… haha).
First stop on a night out along Oxford Street, and my friends and I had never seen anything more pretentious. Maybe we were too old, or just too friendly? A room full of people who really believed they were on display, and too fussed to really let loose and dance. Hmmmmm.
After asking around and finding out where to see a drag show, we left this bar, only to return later. The return was much better. Maybe the late night hours plies everybody remarkably with the alcohol and they’re allowed then to have fun and smile. Getting there well after midnight we had a much better time and danced till our hearts’ content. Just a bit of a wobble off the start, but Nevermind turned out to show us a grand time, and I’d fully recommend it (for the end of a dance-​party kind of night)!

A vibrant, extremely busy gay club on Oxford Street! Best known as the club that Lady Gaga recently showed up at unannounced!
If you’re a girl (or a gay guy, obviously), or a guy comfortable enough with his sexuality to be able to enjoy himself at a gay club, this is one of the better ones.
The crowd is friendly, if a bit (read: a lot) enthusiastic. The smoking section is perpetually overcrowded, despite the bouncer’s best efforts, so it’s probably a better bet to just hop down to the street if you’re craving a nicotine hit.
And there’s no use being coy with the bartenders, they’re inundated with orders. If you want to be served in under 10 minutes, get their attention! But don’t be obnoxious, or they may not serve you at all!
