The Hazy Rose

One of our favorite places in Sydney! Delicious food, well prepared and good portions! The staff are amazing, friendly and extremely knowledgeable about the menu and the local food scene. Also the full service bar upstairs is extremely convenient

Stopped here for a feed based on other Unilocal reviews. Hands down amazing British food. There’s not much to say other than it has a great atmosphere, excellent food for reasonable prices — just worth it. Give it a go.

This is a very cool small bar in the heart of Darlinghurst where you can relax and have a few drinks with some mates. It’s a very intimate setting set by candlelight and the music they play gets you in the ZONE… to chill.
Service is pleasant, someone comes around every so often to get your order/​clean up glasses. The food menu is a bit lacking, but what they provide is tasty (kettle chips ftw!) All the cocktails and standard drinks are tasty, and not too strong and not too weak. If you’re a smoker there’s a balcony you can step out to.
Great place to hang with a small group of friends or for an intimate date.
Note: Restroom is not ventilated well.

Would I bring a first date here? I’d normally reserve my favorite spots for beyond the 1^st date but I’d certainly take an 8+ here on a first date. If you’re looking to impress, head to The Hazy Rose.
Would I bring a second date here? 7+ for sure, in case it didn’t work out, I wouldn’t want to see anyone less than a 7 here as I’m a frequent guest
What is one must have item? I normally go for the Old Fashioned but the Boulevardier comes in a close second especially if you enjoy Campari.
What is one thing I could have done without? I can’t really fault anything at this point, everything has been perfection so far.
What is one thing I wish they had? a garden area or bigger balcony space for a chilled out evening drink outdoors!
Service? Dom, Brendan, Harriet are the best, there’s no turning back after you’ve met them! Tell them what you’re looking for and they’ll whip up something magically special just for you.

What an amazing small cocktail bar in Darlinghurst. The inside décor is candle lit with soft lighting and is decorated as if you were in a hotel bar in Havana. The music is a soft level 60’s and 70’s mix, but not the music that is over played in the radio. Great playlist (As a side note, the music selection in the bathroom is a talk/​classical music radio station. Brilliant. The bartenders are amazingly attentive and magicians behind the bar. We ordered a cocktail off of the menu and when we were done the bartender asked if we wanted another off of the menu or a suggestion to suit our tastes. We opted for a suggestion. I wanted a meaty, smokey drink and my Wife wanted a unique Gin cocktail. What we got was perfect and we were told the liquor used and why it was used to suit our tastes. These guys really know their stuff. I think I’m going to spend an afternoon here with some friends and while away a nice summer day.
While very little food is served (a nice cheese plate is about all) the concentration is behind the bar. Give this place a try. You won’t regret it.
