Where do I start, amazing views, amazing work and meeting areas, funky, digital native heaven, child frienfdly, a real Google/Yahoo factory feel. Plenty of space, technology is amazing, digital printing just print and send.(See pic) tram at the door right at the end of the new Collins Street Docklands stop. Quiet areas, the ambience is amazing. The only downfall that does not detract from 5 stars is the private café operator, no eftpos no cards, cash only, bitter coffee, lack lustre personality, time for a change of contractor I’d say or maybe some feedback from management to embrace the near perfect space. Oh, the plasma under the coffee tables are great and the best way to get your daily news fix. Love it Melbourne City Council. Oh and FREE Wifi woo hoo

It’s probably not the best location so not a lot of people goes there, which is fantastic for people in the know as there are tons of library books that’s probably has long waiting lists in the other libraries. They even have a 3D printing machine there which is super cool. Why have they got one there? I have nooooo idea! The children book area are well laid out and there are interactive games for children to play.

With three levels, books, free access to the internet free access to computers, power access for laptops, a smart yet practical design, and a café down stairs, this is the place for studying or research, or just a really good place to hang out with friends, drink coffee, and catch up on current events. #exploremelbourne #smcc2 #winning

I love this library. There’s a nice café downstairs, and plenty of seating, so you can chill out with a coffee and a book(or there’s a good selection of magazines). If you’re looking for somewhere to study, there are several quiet areas and lots of tables and seating to hunker down in. Docklands can be a bit of a deserted wasteland, but this kind of community hub is a little gem. You can tell they’ve put a lot of thought into going beyond your average library and really making something that a lot of people will get use of. Upstairs has table tennis tables, nice modern looking computers, and even a PS4 and Wii(if you have the heart to fight the kids for a controller). Speaking of kids, it’s a fantastic place to bring them, especially on a rainy Melbourne day — there’s a nice kids section at the back of the ground floor. On the weekend I visited with my nieces they also had music and face painting. If the weather is nice, you’ll also appreciate the playground out the front. It’s got a few quirky things that make it more interesting than your average budget playground, so you might even stand a chance of getting them away from the video games upstairs!

Comfortable, relaxing and bright spot in the heart of Docklands, great for a rest from city strolls or just enjoying a rainy day over a book. Good collection and friendly staff too :)
