A nice place to sit and relax out in the sun with a cold drink in hand. One of the few places in Essendon that offers a decent outside area to dine (although on the street). However, I have been here several times and each time the service has been a little slow, and although the food is nice and plentiful I also feel it is a little on the steep side price-​wise for what it is. These two points are minor and many may disagree, but is what for me makes it a three star. I will definitely will keep going back, it just wont be top of the list.

Max’s Corner is a large bustling café meets restaurant meet sports bar in Essendon. We showed up for lunch with a group of 10 and no booking (boyfriend’s parents!) and the staff were lovely and able to accommodate us in the private function room. The food and coffee were both average, and the servings insanely generous (I brought home half of my pizza and I feel like I won’t need to cook for a day or two…). Unfortunately, they stop serving brunch at 12, even on weekends.
