It took me eight months to step foot inside Fitzroy’s Objects of Luxury. Why? Its name. I may love a luxurious, erm, object as much as the next gal but I’ve long found the name of this particular boutique at once a little alienating and a lot scary. Selling a veritable smorgasboard of accessories — from brightly coloured eelskin purses and handbags to Swarovski crystal bib necklaces and frighteningly expensive pashminas — Objects of Luxury is the kind of boutique where you could walk out having spent more than a week’s rent on one solitary accessory but would quite likely treasure it forever. I was particularly impressed by Objects of Luxury’s incredible range of scarves, shawls and pashminas made out of some of the most beautiful silks, cottons and cashmeres I’ve felt in a while. If you need accessories and have a taste for the luxurious, Objects of Luxury is a no-brainer.
