The QA is a James St standard and has a decent bottle-o and TAB too. Get down and check out the new menu it’s pretty good. The QA also has lunch and nightly specials which aren’t half bad, especially the 2−4−1 steaks on Monday and Tuesday nights. Oh and there’s a bunch of TVs around too and is a good spot to watch the footy, have a few beverages and throw some banter.

Always a favourite for after work drinks on a Thursday or Friday or any night for that matter. But now they have had a bit of a makeover with the dining room I’ve discovered their $ 12 lunches. Great chicken schnitters, steak sambo or pay a bit more for something off the normal menu. Good solid local pub with great value food and good atmosphere.

This was a nice surprise for lunch. I had the Chicken Parmigiana which was on the expensive side at $ 23, however was tasty. I would have had the fish $ 12 special but it was barramundi and I don’t like barra very much, and I didn’t feel like a steak, or pasta(the other $ 12 lunch special). Serving size was huge. Chips were great and the salad was pretty good. My friend had the $ 12 lunch special rump steak. A little bit overdone he said, but the rather delicious jus made up. For $ 12 was well worth it. There are more expensive cuts on the menu also but they’re all up there in price with the chicken parmigiana. Next time I’ll go the steak special. They ought to be more down around the $ 18 mark with that parmigiana and then it would get 4 stars definitely.

Visiting from the Minnesota, USA and was craving some good pizza and QA hotel delivered! The service was amazing and so was the food. We went on a Monday evening and had no issues finding somewhere to sit. Will for sure return.

I have always heard good things about the Queen’s Arms Hotel, or as it is affectionately known, the QA, so one night I decided to head there for a feed before a gig. I was extremely impressed! The place was full but we were able to get a table without a wait and the hostess was really lovely. Unfortunately I missed getting her name, but as I also work in customer service so I know that when you receive great service, it really can make or break an experience! I decided to order something a bit more traditional off the menu and went with the spaghetti bolognese. It was fantastic. Not too huge or too small, the size was perfect and the meat sauce, well it was more like a stew! Button mushrooms, chunky tomato pieces and the herbs and spices that went into the sauce made it one of the best bolognese’s I have ever had, and I have been to Italy! But raving aside, the place really is that good. The menu does change every few months to keep with the seasons, and the prices range from $ 20 — $ 30 or maybe a bit more if you say get the steak and add the seafood. The thing with the menu though, it is always inventive and that is what keeps the patrons coming back for more. But there are also some specials, from 12 — 3 daily there are $ 10 lunches and they have $ 6 Corona specials as well. There are a few different bars, the TAB area and gaming lounge and the whole place is full of atmosphere, friendly staff and ample chairs and tables around which to meet. Really enjoyed my meal there and will most certainly be going back!

As a local, the Queens Arm’s Hotel is a fairly distinct and old hotel. It’s been established for yonks and serves primarily as a drive-through bottle-o. Still, it’s a nice restaurant and features some cheap beer, as well as a decent selection of spirits. You may think the QA features some seedy element but it’s surprisingly well decorated, with decent service. From 12 to 3 you can get a $ 10 lunch, with a variety of choices. On other odd days, they do specials, including seasonal events such as the Melbourne Cup, Christmas Parties and, of course, NYE. Not bad for a local pub!

Driving past the QA Hotel on James Street, I’d always assumed it was a standard dodgy old pub. It’s actually been refurbished to create several modern and attractive bars, function rooms, a dance floor, and a great restaurant. I’ve been there for dinner a few times now, and been very happy with my meal each time. Main courses cost between $ 20 and $ 30 and, in true pub fashion, are very generous servings. Breakfast and a $ 10 lunch are also available. The QA is a great venue if you’re looking for a reasonably formal restaurant setting with great, better-than-pub food at good prices. Also an excellent place for a cheap, casual lunch or a get-together with friends.

Stumbled across QA Hotel on a very hungry sunday lunchtime, thinking it may be slightly creepy hang, I walked in to be pleasantly surprised. To the right of the main bar area is a really nice table/restaurant sitting area. It had families sitting enjoying a nice sunday lunch. Every sunday afternoon is a roast special. I had the chicken roast and my friend had the BBQ Chicken pizza– both amazing! Food served from 12 daily until 9pm. Looks like a fun hang out for boys that want to chill at a pub. Footpath seating available. Helpful service. I would definitely return. Cellar function room available and gaming areas Next door is also a drive through bottle shop.
