Dockside Marina

Is what song I was humming when we strolled to Dockside at 4pm for a wedding. Everything was so beautiful, there was a nice warm summer (really Autumn) breeze going through the grassy forecourt as well.
The wedding and staff were absolutely brilliant, on-​time, very efficiently run, and the food was really nice too.
A great spot for a garden ceremony with a cocktail reception anyone looking to get married. I hear prices are super reasonable too.

I wish I had a boat. The freedom of owning a boat would be amazing but alas, earning a pittance as a writer means that unless I become Stephen King overnight I probably will never be able to afford one. Luckily for me I have a friend whose parents do, allowing me to live out my boating fantasies even if only for a little while.
Now there are a few places along the Brisbane River where one can moor their boat. The Dockside Marina at Kangaroo point is a mighty fine one. You can moor your vessel here either long or short term. Entering from a lovely wooden walkway you will need a key to enter the little gate near your berth. There is power and water on all berths and wireless internet access available. You can also catch a lovely little ferry into the CBD from close by or take a short walk across the Story Bridge.
The Marina has a nice view of Brisbane and the Story Bridge if you are lucky enough to not just be starring at the back end of another boat. Living on the water really is something else and from what I hear, the Dockside Marina is a nice place to do so.
