The Admiral

So this place has gone down my fish tasted horrible and when mentioned to the staff when paying they kinda shrugged it off and didn’t offer discount at all

Just prior to Australia getting unmercifully thrashed by New Zealand in Rugby, we decided, on the spur of the moment, to once again visit our newly found favourite tavern restaurant. Why mention the Rugby? Both our waitresses were Kiwis and both Shirley Ann and her associate added to the allure of this place and neither was particularly interested in Rugby. Both however, knew the menu and were attentive to our needs at the table. Waitstaff (to be politically correct) can make or break a place like this and we have always found the staff at the Admiral to be great (Kiwis or not). This visit was no exception.
The food was, as usual, very good. Only one criticism, if you could call it a criticism. I had a steak, topped with half a crayfish chips and a salad, all liberally coated with a creamy garlic sauce. Sounds good doesn’t it. It was!!! However there was literally too much on the plate. The steak was placed on top of the chips and the crayfish laying across the steak.
By the end of the meal, I was up to my elbows in garlic sauce as the crayfish legs had to be cracked. All great stuff though, and worth the price. I would have the same meal again, but would not recommend it to those who hesitate to get down and dirty!!!
This place is great. Do yourself a favour!

Can’t seem to get enough of this place so I’m glad it’s a local, service always great and food only seems to get better. The Mother’s Day menu looked good but couldn’t go past a good surf n turf and the mash potatoes was to die for I would even go to saying it was the best part of the main meal. The banana style cake for desert from the Mother’s Day menu was an absolute hit it should be on there menu as a permanent thing although it is already increasingly hard to choose from

Great new pub bistro for the kwinana area. It’s been a long time coming too. Has a nice modern selection of meals from the usual chicken parmigiana to the more modern crispy skin salmon. Guaranteed to please all tastes. Really great selection of drinks behind the bar as well. I’m a fan already!
