Terrible service, terrible attitude from the manger and poor food. I should have read the reviews first as they were right. The mangers reprimanded his servers in front of guests. The time it took to get a salad was ridiculous and all they could say was they were very busy. Honestly, the place shouldn’t be in business. It’s a shame because they have such a great location.

Food ok — chips awful. Waitstaff great but owner rude to customers and staff. Owner accused us, rather loudly, of eating someone else’s meal!

My family and I were looking for a seafood restaurant while visiting Manly for the afternoon. We noticed Watervue restaurant was fairly popular and decided to try it out. Bad decision. When ordering our food it took several attempts to flag down our waiter to order. When we asked what type of fish the barramundi was, the response was«it’s fish, I don’t know more.» That should have been a warning sign. After ordering our food it took 50 minutes to finally get it(we had a party of four and all ordered the fish). When we finally got our food one of the dishes was completely cold. The fries were bland and the tartar sauce tasted like Italian dressing. One of the plates didn’t come with lemon and there was no salt pepper or ketchup on our table. The fish was actually pretty good but not worth the wait. Overall a frustrating experience.

Stopped here while walking down the Corso. Nice outside dining. Servers are ver y attentive. I had the seafood basket which was a mixture of shrimp, calamari, peppered squid and delicious chips. My husband had the rump roast. He said it was very good. Iwwould have given this restaurant 5 stars but you have to pay at the register. I read the previous reviews which weren’t very good so management must have made some changes.

Not great. Stopped in upon spotting the $ 10 breakfast blackboard special which was eggs any way, bacon, grilled tomato, sausage and a slice of thick toast. It’s been a while since I’ve seen what’s considered a full cooked breakfast for this price, and it wasn’t bad — ample bacon, poached eggs done right, fresh toast. Coffee was terrible, looked and tasted like instant with no visible crema so we sent it back. The restaurant staff accepted our request with not too much trouble, although didn’t seem surprised when we were confirming what they had actually given us. Second was marginal and slightly stronger — Flat white, under extracted and milk not really textured at all. Payment at the cashier at the end was curt, gentleman could have been friendlier, and didn’t mention/explain the coffees. For the location in the center of the Corso I would have thought this place would do better. Judging by my experience and that of others, it seems I’m not the only one questioning how they are still operating. Probably wont be back unless they make some changes. The breakfast was good(for the price), but the coffee was bad, and the service left something to be desired.

I was coralled in by some middle eastern man insisting I look at a menu… I ordered fish and chips. after some time I received this overcooked bit of batter and chips that were dry. Do yourself a favour if you see a guy with menus coming at you… RUN…

Prime location, poor food. Being in the Main Street of Manly this place definitely attracts customers due to it’s location with tables mid-promenade, however that’s really all there is to it. Pineapple juice– out if a carton, extremely tart but watered down at the same time Fish and calamari combo– horrible hard and dry chips and mediocre frozen fish, with two pieces of calamari rings. You’d get much better at a hot food store for half the cost Scallops in white wine sauce served on salad– tiny over cooked scallops with very little salad, although presentation earns them 1 star Banana smoothie– sister said this was their only saving grace Service was pretty non-existent. You have to walk up to the cashier to pay yourself. Even then we were ignored, we almost wanted to just walk away. Verdict: I wouldn’t come back, it’s definitely a tourist trap

Wow how many things could possibly go wrong when you order two coffees and a muffin? Apparently alot! A friend and I spotted a nice looking café in the center of Manly and needed a sit down with a decent coffee. The man at the front was quick to urge us in and we chose alfresco seats outside. A waitress came to take our order and it was quite simple, a cappuccino and muffin for a friend and a skim latte for me. But the waitress looked a bit vague so before she left I repeated the order(although it should have been the other way around), ‘so two coffee and a muffin’ I affirmed just to ensure she understood. The reason I say that is because I noticed all waiting staff appear to be traveling backpackers from all over the world, europe, asia etc which is not a problem for me but I don’t think they’ve had much experience before. As we waited I heard the lady next to me complain that her garlic bread was stale. My friends coffee and muffin came out and my coffee didn’t, I had to ask another waitress to check my coffee and there seem to be a bit of confusion about it. When my friend took a bite of her muffin, it was rock hard, it had been obviously warmed up in the microwave but it was still that stale it simply was not good enough to serve to a paying customer. When she kindly advised the waitress, they seemed confused again and without an apology or another word she whisked it away and in a few minutes returned with another one which was alot fresher. However when we went out to pay, the two men at the front didn’t really look that impressed. I rarely complain but the service, food and everything wasn’t pleasant, which is a shame considering the great location and the amount of tourists who flock to Manly to take in the sights. For their sake, I hope they lift their game.
