I am a sucker for Korean bbq especially on cold Melbourne nights. Try and book as they open from 5:30 and only take two booking times(5:30 and 6:00). If you don’t book, be prepared to wait and although there is a seating time limit of 2 hours, there is not much space to wait in the restaurant so you could be stuck lining up on the street… hungry and sad. We had a group of 8 and went a bit overboard however in the end we paid $ 21 each and were super satisfied. Dishes to try: –8 types of pork(comes with pot of soup) –stone pot rice(they can do vegetarian –tofu) –toboki(rice cake+ramen in chilli sauce+fish cakes+egg) **my favourite –fried platter(included karoke, prawns, french fries) –seafood kimchi pancake Will be heading back again.

When you dine at a Korean restaurant and realise you’re the only person in the entire establishment who is not of a Korean heritage, you know you’re in for a noteworthy experience. What I found the most refreshing at ChangGo was the high quality of their staff: very polite, energetic and accommodating to our whims. We came here at 10pm on a Thursday night, and were surprised by the number of people inside. I’ve walked past this restaurant before and seen queues at the door, so if you decide to come here during a high period, expect to queue for a time period before getting a seat. Inside is a crowded(but not insidiously so) room covered in wood, with stylish exhaust tubes hanging from the roof for each table. The first thing that will hit you is the intense smell of the meals other patrons are cooking, and expect to smell of Korean food after you leave due to the typical close proximity of the sizzling food on your table.
