They had pretty poor service. Three of us went into have lunch. For some reason they only put through two meals but three drinks and they didn’t bother to confirm the order or question how many of us were eating. It was only after waiting for 5 minutes after the two meals came out did we realise they must’ve missed the third meal. When I got up to ask where it was, they weren’t very apologetic and then it took another 10 minutes just to heat up the roll. We saw plenty of other orders go out before they got to ours, so even though they stuffed up they didn’t push our order forward. They seemed really pissed off and distracted from the get-go. It wasn’t a pleasant or welcoming experience. Also pretty much all of the tables were covered in dirty dishes or hadn’t been wiped down. The food was ok. I had a smashed avocado bagel with feta. Didn’t blow my mind, but nothing on the menu(or I guess in the fridge… They don’t have menus, it’s just whatever’s in the display cabinet) piqued my interest. The coffee was the only redeeming factor but definitely not enough of a reason to warrant going back there. Sorry guys, you gotta pick up your service game!

The coffee is dynamite, always consistent and never a bad one. Food on the menu is great too, especially the salads, fresh made of course and fantastic!

Although hard to spot when driving past, this charming neighbourhood café is worth a visit. The space is clean and modern and I like the white tiled-counter and wooden tables. There is a counter in the window well stocked with newspapers and around 6 tables. It wasn’t busy at 11am on a Wednesday but plenty of people dropped in for takeaway sandwiches while I was there. The two young staff were welcoming but service was painfully slow. I have to admit my coffee was to die for but it was served a full 10 minutes ahead of my toasted banana bread, quite ridiculous as the place was practically empty. I will go back though. The coffee really was exceptional and the selection of sandwiches was enticing. Next time I’d like to try the pulled pork and coleslaw baguette or a breakfast bun with bacon eggs and sun dried tomato. The two brownies on offer(dark chocolate, and salted caramel) also looked quite appealing! It is a little on the pricy side. I paid $ 18 for two slices of banana bread, a flat white a baby chino(served w a marshmallow of course).

Fairly new I think, and tucked away in the southerly burbs’, this little café is charming! It seems a welcome addition to a small group of local shops, providing a cute hipster-ish café in a place you wouldn’t really expect! The décor is clean, light and modern — a wooden bar with fresh newspapers, mini jars holding sugar and a range of cakes and light meals to satisfy a morning tea, lunch or arvo craving. My latte was not the best I’ve had in Adelaide, but still worth a mention. The banana bread I had however — delicious. Thick cut, homemade, toasted — what more could you ask for? How about wonderfully moist(shudder at that word) and yet light at the same time? You got it. Can I have the recipe please?! Overall the service was nice, just one guy was manning the café but that’s all it needs on a quiet Wednesday afternoon. I hope to see them expand into breakfasts maybe! P. S. You can also buy your 2L bottle of non-homogenised Tweedvale milk here to take home for $ 4.50! Yay!

Wow, blink and you’ll miss it! We had to drive down Winston Avenue twice to find it — thank you to Carola B for giving us some clues ;) This is really a ‘coffee and cake’ sort of place — there isn’t much of a selection of savoury lunch items. But when I see a salted caramel tart, I’m instantly impressed! And the coffee was damned good too(possibly Bonsoy, though not completely certain — it definitely had that amazing creaminess!). Now we know it’s here, we will certainly be back when in this neck of the woods ;)

Its little, its almost hidden, its quiet — but it just feels right on a surprisingly active street where sits The Little Fig. Surrounded by teeny places such as a bakery that has tradies shipping through at a fast pace, a ceramics and tiling shop that runs classes while you run your eyes over the goods, and a few other interesting shops including ones to purchase somewhat expensive dust collectors at. But its there. Staffed by two, the menu is simple but very good. The coffee was made well and was exactly what I needed from the moment my lips hit the cup till the final milk moustache was wiped. The foccacia I ate had the right combination of flavours and colours and had me slowing my rate of consumption to enjoy the flavours. Reading through the magazines was only required part time, while people watching outside of the shop added to the glazed over look I occasionally fell into considering I had just finished work. For the size and location, it was surprisingly busy for 1:30pm, and by 2pm I was the sole occupant listening to the banter of the staff working which both entertained and amused me. A great place to bring people for brunch I would assume, and I would aim to do that even in the summer months because the sun would warm this little shop right up and keep those sitting outside in happy sunshine good vibe-ness. A definite re-do is necessary.

Organic, good coffee is very few and far between when you work in the suburbs of Adelaide. So glad I came across The Little Fig — coffee is great. Service is friendly and welcoming. Open early on weekdays, and easy to park, pop in and grab my morning coffee hit.

Very tasty coffee and some delicious treats. Friendly staff. Pet peeve time that applies to The Little Fig and a few other coffee houses in Adelaide that otherwise serve good coffees. What’s with the restricted cup sizes? Some give just one size, many offer only a «regular» and a slightly bigger«large». My friend and I have stopped here a couple of times while driving by given the convenient parking. The first time we asked if they did a larger cup, explaining that we prefer to get our coffee fix from one large cup. The second time, perhaps a month or so later, we expected the friendly management might have taken the gentle suggestion on board but still no large cup. Haven’t coffee houses noted that we customers like some choices? Just visit CIBO and see why they’ve been voted best coffee chain in Australia. Among other things they offer consumers three cup sizes — every consumer preference is covered.

The Little Fig is a fair way south, not my usual hangout area as I live in the North East, but my partner takes me on coffee and café tours and this little gem was one of our stops recently. Kelly, the lady who runs the place, is lovely and friendly. The coffee, my partner tells me, is good and its fair trade which sounds fancy and eco sensitive. The hot chocolate’s, my gauge to a good café, are also amazing. and I also love the cakes they have on show. The seating is a little limited, but there is some outside. And the opening hours could be a little longer and open on Sunday’s would be nice!

A popular suburban haunt for the young and old alike, The Little Fig makes fantastic coffee. And its fairtrade and organic for all you yuppie hippies. Stylish and modern décor, and friendly service, its easy to see why this is a favourite with the locals. A selection of cakes and sweet treats are reasonably priced and can be bought to go. There is also a welcome representation of gluten-free items on the menu, including both savoury and sweet items.
