Oodles of Noodles

Oodles is a straightforward stir fry noodle place. You choose your type of noodle, protein, sauce and out it comes in a few minutes. It was tasty enough and servings were ample. OoN is run by an elderly Asian couple who were friendly, although not particularly talkative! Décor is a bit rough and more suitable for Chinatown or such. This has its appeal and actually not typical in Mosman where the Asian restaurants are gussied up and the atmosphere tries for compensate for average food (with high prices to match).

Great cheap tasty freshly prepared noodles. I’ve been coming here for years and its never changed, always excellent!

It does what it says on the tin. Noodles in their very oodles. You choose your noodle, meat and style of sauce and bosh. Done. The freshest ingredients all lovingly chopped for you to see are jiggled together and ready in a steaming jiffy. The jumbo spring rolls are beyond delicious — not in a delicate spring roll way — think fat pastry and gloopy curry sauce. GORGE-​ous.
The best thing for me about this place though is the Chinese couple who run it; him on the wok, her on the counter. They are just about the sweetest people I’ve ever met. We’ve had many a heartfelt conversation over the years, though I confess I have resorted to nods and smiles when I’ve misheard over the sizzling of the woks and the general hub-​bub. She probably thinks I’m a little strange as I smile at her tales of financial woe, which makes her all the more deserving of good fortune. A hard working couple who make simple, delicious food. The sort of people who should win the lottery. Maybe if you read this and are urged to go, they might just feel like they have.
