Discovered this place today. One of the best coffees I’ve ever had! All the food passing us by looked amazing, great selection on the menu of salads, sandwiches, quesadillas… We had cakes with coffee, very fabulous. We will be heading back for lunch when next in Mt Barker.

Hands down one of the best cafes in the Adelaide Hills. Started by brothers hailing from Mexico, Sazon adds spice(literally) to the variety of eateries in the hills. The food is fresh, healthy and flavoursome, and don’t get me started on the hot chocolate! W hen there are options such as «chilli» and«Spanish», you know it’s gonna be good! There’s a good variety of meals, with lighter salads and heavier options. Friday nights are Mexican street food nights, with a whole other menu. The cheese fondue is especially good — filling and heavily flavoursome to entice the palate. Last week I tried their iced coffee. The coffee was strong but not too bitter, and the drink had a thick, indulgent consistency. It was pretty delicious. The seating space can be a bit cramped, but only because Sazon is so popular! There’s both indoor and outdoor seating, and a newly added outdoor booth, complete with flowers along the edges. I recommend sitting outside if you want a good conversation! In saying that though, the interior décor is fantastic. Odd vintage lighting illuminates the beautiful wall art and gives the place a hip, vintage and cosy atmosphere. I hear their new Adelaide store is quickly gaining good repertoire as well — cant say I’m surprised!

I love Sazon. Honestly my favourite café! The food is deliciously fresh and the customer service is always on point. I can’t rate this place any higher. I always enjoy coming here. I’m not a coffee drinker but I can attest to them having the most scrumptious hot chocolates ever. Décor and atmosphere is great also. Definitely worth a visit.

Sooner or later your passport comes out roaring, showing you as a Mexican or a Mexican’t. Cuban music, ceramic plates, beers, tacos… the place does try to paint the picture. But too slow service(40 min from order to plate staring), and food was unfortunately not remarkable(tacos and chilaquiles). Will I come again? Probably not. But then again, that’s just me, I’ve definitely had better.

Life is all about good people, good places and good coffee. Sazons delivers. Worth the wait, and there will be one with it being one of the most consistently packed out little cafes mongst the treasure trove of eateries in the hills. Always bump into locals up there and that’s a great sign! Outdoor seating and dog friendly too.

They’ve done a good job with this place. There used to be a little Mexican restaurant at the end of the main street of Mt Barker way back when, which left a lot to be desired as far as I can recall, so it’s nice to see Central America getting some decent representation around the area. I opted for the more traditional big brekkie as is my standard on weekends… bacon, eggs, hashies and coffee are a must. The better half went for a Mexican brekkie with corn. Didn’t appeal to me much but she seemed to enjoy it. It was busy. Like lineup for a while busy. But that makes sense as the general concensus is it is one of the better places to grab a takeaway coffee in Mt Barker. You have to go up to the counter to order food, but once we had placed our order, it came out quickly. If you’re happy to get amongst the hustle and bustle, then definitely check out Sazon. If you’re more inclined to enjoy a quieter, more relaxed brekky/morning tea, perhaps shop around for a different venue. Or go on a warm day and sit outside under their verandah.

Great Mexican food and coffee. I can only come sporadically otherwise I’d spend the mortgage here.

Saxon really deserve their five stars. If you needed a seriously delicious and strong coffee this is the place. Their choice of hot chocolate is crazy good too, and the cakes are yum. But I really come here for the coffee.

A great spot for a decent coffee and Spanish/Mexican flavoured food. Specialising in Breakfasts and Lunches — with a Mexican Flavoured dinner on Friday and Saturday nights. I only had coffee but I was there with friends that had breakfast. The Omelette and the Huevos Rancheros were both apparently delicious.

One of my favourite places to eat. The Sazon rounds are definitely a winner. They are so fresh and flavoursome. The quesadillas are also delicious and I can never decide between the two! The décor is also really unique and it has a lovely as well as lively atmosphere. Definitely worth a try if to haven’t been here before — you will not be disappointed.

Im back, I decided I had to give Sazon’s another go. I think the owners may have read my review because after all the issues I’ve had with Sazon’s coffee I was surprised when I received my flat white & it was in fact a flat white. I have been back a few times and my coffee has been exceptional every time.

The best coffee and iced mochas around. The food is also different and very good. Owners are from Mexico so they bring another dimension to their restaurant not found in the area.
