Driving through Mt. Hawthorn on our way to a Japanese Resturant in Leederville. Justine shows me a sign near the road stating«Best Burgers in Perth» in front of Munchies 2 Go. We kept on driving, heading towards Leederville. Although we heading for Japanese through further discussion decided to skip it and head back to Munchies 2 Go to see if the claim is true. Mt. Hawthorn was pretty quiet and we found a car parking spot opposite the boasting venue. We walked across to find a nice little set up of tables and chairs outside. Then walked inside to find the set up like an old road house with a counter that had a hot food case, displaying tempting fast food for people on the run and drink fridges. «Mmmm» I thought not liking the first impressions. Then a friendly lady asked«What can I get you»? Justine says«I’d like to try the Best Burger in Perth please.» «Make it two». I said. With that coughed up $ 18.50 and then was told that they will bring them out to us. We sat outside and within ten minutes we had our Best burgers in Perth delivered to us. Wow! Now I have big hands and I needed them. This burger, it was huge. It was delivered on a big white plate with knife and fork and white napkin. Justine said«How am I going to bite into that.» She decided to cut it in half. I decided to take it on and clamped the burger in my hands and opened my mouth wide and bit into the biggest juiciest burger I have seen. To my surprise it was a real Aussie burger with the lot. Flat bread roll filled with the meat patty with extra onions, melted cheese, egg that wasn’t runny, two slices of tomato, shredded carrot, cucumber, lettuce and of course beetroot. Kept together with a wooden skewer. The meat patty was beautiful. Not over or under cooked just right with tiny onion pieces scattered throughout the patty. Simply delicious. This burger tasted great. I was using the napkin to wipe my mouth after each bite. Justine suggested I should wait and finish the burger first before wiping my mouth as it will only keep oozing out with each bite. That’s for sure. Another tip from Justine was maybe to turn the burger upside down so when we bite into it we won’t lose the guts of the burger back onto the plate. Never thought of that before. It does work. Polished off the burger and felt contently full. Best Burger in Perth. Mmmmmm. Best Burger in Perth. SOFAR!!! Well done Munchies 2 Go will pass on to friends about your delicious burgers.

Hmm, not sure I’m prepared to go all out and verify the accuracy of the claim that this joint serves Perth’s best burger, but gosh darn, it was pretty good! As the photo attests, all the salad ingredients were fresh and the pattie was perfectly executed. It came on a solid plate with lovely heavy cutlery — but who eats a burger with a knife & fork? Here’s my tip, though: use the knife to cut it in half, turn it upside down so the base faces the sky and you’ll be able to better plough that baby down without it all sliding out the sides. Afterwards, you can use the bamboo skewer as a toothpick. Bonus! All that burger goodness for about $ 10. Take it out on the terrace and watch the world go by. Excellent.

Munchies 2 Go, does what is says. It provides gas station treats for those in a hurry. I snagged a delicious and refreshing aloe vera drink for a few gold coins. The staff was friendly and ready to sell me something else. The little bistro tables offer a nice coffee experience for those soaking in the Mt. Hawthorne views.
