One thing that Paddington isn’t short of is art galleries. Some of them are easily recognisable while others are a little more elusive. The latter is much like the Wagner Art Gallery. Located on the corner of Norfolk and Gurner St, this gallery easily blends into the terrace houses surroundings, so make sure you keep your eyes peeled if you’re looking for it. Dedicated to exhibiting local emerging Australian artists as well as having great works from the modern masters Arthur Boyd, Sir Sidney Nolan and John Perceval. Currently that have an exhibition called ‘Small Images-Grand Visions 40/40′. What brought me in was the oil and enamel painting of Keanu Reeves called ‘King Keanu’ by a 2011 Archibald Finalist, Abdul Abdullah. The current exhibition was a series from numerous artists using the maximum dimension of 40×40. It was great to see the varied styles. If you’re wanting to see the local Australian art scene, this is art gallery is great one to check out.
