The Nikon D3100 was more expensive here than we had it expected to it be: nine hundred dollars instead of eight. But for that extra hundred the place through in a package: a tripod, a camera bag, and a memory card, all of which we would have had to buy separately and likely at a higher price – the tripod alone had a recommended retail price of over a hundred and thirty – had we gone elsewhere.
The sales team, while clearly focused on the prize, nevertheless pursued it with a great deal of charm. We were asked what sort of work we were planning on doing with the camera, what level we were at, and were given lots of suggestions for future purchases that might help us to develop. Best of all, we were given those suggestions without having them forced down our throats, and we walked out with no more or less than exactly what we wanted to buy.
