Lucky Import & Export Co

I’ve only been here a few times when I’ve been unable to find ‘cooking sake’ or ‘pipagao’ (Chinese herbal cough syrup) at my usual haunts, but Lucky has always delivered. It is a huge Asian supermarket which sells just about anything you might need to cook up a storm. Products include hot snacks, plants, fruit and veg, crockery, pots, pans, steamers, tea, herbal medicine and much, much more. I was particularly impressed with their whopping great big knives, which look like they would make quick work of just about anything (keep ‘em in mind in case of a zombpocalypse) and very simple but nice bowls. I am not convinced it’s the cheapest of its kind, I find it quite cramped at the front and it’s got a funky smell (not a pleasant funky either), so it’s not my first choice. However, it’s reliable and the people are nice.
