Beef and chicken combination phở was pleasant, but unremarkable. There were almost no vegetarian options for my dining partner. Two large screens showing sports flanked the small, clean restaurant. No music meant little to no vibe.

This is the best phở joint in town. The broth is not high in anise nor msg. Am a fan of the Phở Ga(chicken). The soup is clear and has a great chicken flavour. Others I’ve tried along the same stretch of shops cannot compare! The soup is always piping hot! Actually Phở Hung Vuong 2 and Chu The are equal first in my book. :)

Best phở on Victoria st. Still had beef towards the end! Which Usually runs out very quick from the other restaurants. Fast service. Plenty of chilli. Cheap and tasty.

For my money this is the best Phở in the 3 realms — Footscray, Springvale and Richmond(Vietnamese towns :-) I heard many years ago that the secret is in their master stock! Which is said to be about 30 years old! — those who don’t know food, No, this is not disgusting — imagine the flavor profile of something that has been, essentially, developing for so long — well head to «Chu The» and you will know. This place specializes in Phở, not much else on the menu except BBP! — BIGBOWLS of PHO! On side not, i prefer the décor of the place before they ‘fancied up a lil’ — it was much more hole-in-the wall and in my opinion that was a perfect representation of a restaurant which serves amazing food and not much else. Phở Chu The — Fo-sure! :)

I have moved here from California where there is a wealth of Vietnamese restaurants and I am determined to find me the best bowl of phở here. I visited some other spots around Victoria street and so far this place gets my vote for best spot. The broth was full and robust and all of the garnishes were fresh AND they served it with a lime which is what I am used to and I like the sweeter taste it gives the broth. All other placesI have been to have given me lemons :/ It doesn’t look like your typical solid phở joint, everything is nice and clean and dishes look higher class. I looked past the signs of an overpriced phở joint and found deliciousness.

I defy anyone to get through a «large» serving of Phở here. Phở Chu does Phở. Very well. There’s loads of variations including ones with traditional«weird» bits and also those that are a little tamer(chicken breast? sliced beef perhaps?). All come served with a big plate heaving with herbs, lemon wedges and bean shoots, and the table has a myriad of condiments ready for you to tweak your dinner, but the real bonus if you can choose one of three sizes. The small is reasonable, the medium will test the limits of your stomach and the large… well I mean when it comes in at around $ 10 for meal as big as your head, it’s tempting to go for«value» but really, that’s like a litre of liquid in there kids! Tell me if you manage it, and I will high-five you big time.

When it comes to Victoria Street and phở, there are just so many options to try out. Now, I absolutely LOVE phở. It’s cheap, delicious, and refreshing! By itself, this establishment would probably be great! Unfortunately, because it’s on Victoria Street it just cannot help but be out-competed by other restaurants such as my personal favourite Phở Hung Vuong 2. Food: I ordered a 9 dollar medium bowl of Phở w/Beef & Tendon. The bowl was HUGE and filling, but unfortunately the amount of beef they had was a bit disappointing. For a 9 dollar medium bowl of phở, even though the price is pretty cheap I would like some meat with my noodles. — I probably wouldn’t come here again. After all, why would I if there are plenty of other places just next door? If you happen to stumble upon this establishment though and everywhere else is full, don’t skip it. It’s worth a shot and tasty!
