I hate giving reviews like this but it’s the sad truth.
Went here on Australia Day as the fish and chip shop (Sandgate Fishmonger) was packed and this place only had 5 tables of people.
We sat down and waited to be served. After a couple of minutes I grabbed by son a high chair and found some menus on another table and started to have a look. After another 10 minutes of not even being acknowledged by the staff, I went next door and ordered some takeaway fish and chips.
The 2 young waiters looked like they didn’t want to be there and this was clearly reflected in their service. During the very short wait for our takeaway, we saw 3 people at another table leave without eating as well so I assume they had a similar experience.
All it would have taken was to be acknowledged by the staff and we would have likely spent $ 60+ on lunch for the 2 of us, but instead we enjoyed the take away from next door at less than half the price.
It looked like a nice place but unfortunately I can’t comment the food as I just gave up :-(I really hope this place can learn and improve… Perhaps the owner needs to be onsite so ensure money literally doesn’t walk out the door.
