Situated in Acland Court shopping precinct in St Kilda, Acland Street Medical Centre is a general practice that has been established for over 25 years and shares its premises with a podiatrist and dietician. The practice consists of three full-time doctors and 2 part time doctors, supported by a full-time practice manager, two full time receptionists and a part-time receptionist. The doctors provide a comprehensive range of family medical services and have special interests including community medicine and geriatrics. There is a pathology collection centre downstairs, Cabrini Pathology, which is open from 9am to 1pm Mon to Fri. Bulk billing is available at the clinic if patients have a pension card or health care card. Children up to 16 years and students with a valid student card, up to aged 21 years, are bulk billed. Every time I’ve had to attend the practice, I’ve found the consultations to be quick, simple and the doctor’s very helpful and supportive. Only problem is, because the practice is known for accepting walk-in’s, the wait time can be quite lengthy, so best to book well in advance if you require a consultation.
