I really enjoyed this restaurant. I went there recently and had a Speciale pizza and shared the dessert bread with chocolate sauce. Both items were done well though I might ask for a few more olives in the pizza next time(personal preference!). ;) The atmosphere was nice and, if the weather were warmer, I would have been happy to sit outside at the sidewalk tables. A glass of prosecco was enjoyed before the meal and the red table wine was a compliment to the meal. I would look forward to a chance to eat here again.

Amazing restaurant — highly recommend. Food was exceptional, venue was intimate and service was outstanding. The team(especially Suzie) went out of their way to provide a five star experience. Looking forward to returning!

I’ve been here three times and their recipes are delicious with gorgeously thin crusts. However the service is notoriously rude and the last time I visited both mine and my partners pizza were burnt. After waiting a long time get our food, neither of us were keen on sending them back. If the staff here were more attentive I would probably come back but currently I just don’t feel like this is a relaxed atmosphere to dine in and perhaps get a burned pizza…

This is one of the best pizzas I have try in Melbourne, good service and a very romantic atmosphere for a date. Can’t wait to come back

Yep, I’d go back in a heart beat for the food. The meats on the antipasto plate were so yummy, like a little bit of cured meat heaven, and the eggplant rolls were spot on. The dessert pizza was also pretty darn tasty. My only gripe is the noise. It’s a small place and on a Friday night it was loud.

The only reason it’s not 5 star is that we ordered a margherita and the buffalo mozzarella was not melted and was cold(making the whole pizza cold). This is something I’m not familiar with(I have been to Italy). Base 5*, sauce 5*, cold cheese — ?. Wine was good value, antipasto was amazing.

Authentic Italian pizza — one of the best we’ve had in Melbourne. It’s a very simple menu, cosy setting and reasonably priced.

Probably the best Pizza in Melbourne! Definitely the best pizza I’ve had anyway. With it’s amazingly well cooked crusts and simple but effective toppings it is an amazing experience. Try the Genovese, it’ll knock your socks off! The staff are know to be typically… off hand, but this is due to their inner Italian passion which does occasionally come off aggressive. There’s nothing like hearing the Italian banter coming from the kitchen as they artistically put together your pizza. The sense of authenticity at I Carusi II makes it a great restaurant to go to. One of my absolute favourites!

I have never had the pleasure of eating at the place that made the name, but I’m almost certain that the second edition to the family offers the same level of great food and authentic Italian cuisine. Sadly the second edition hasn’t come with the addition of pasta to the menu. I would love to see how traditional and wonderful it could be. For now I settle on the pizza, which shits(pardon the language) on almost every pizza I’ve had in Melbourne. You won’t get modern toppings or strange meats that don’t suit the base. Instead you’ll get a rich napoli or cheese base, a perfectly crisp crust, and perhaps a small fantasy of Italy during the spring time. If you don’t get the latter it’s because you were born without an imagination, or you’re distracted by cars chasing each other along Barkley Street.
