Flourish On Magill

This place is pretty rad for a few reasons. Firstly it is way bigger inside than it looks. With a back room that leads to another back room, and a whole underground area, it has a huge amount of gift variety.
I have been there a few times but stopped this weekend to get my sister a baby shower present. The shopkeeper showed me some cool baby friendly jewelry and I bought a few other things, including a card which had cartoon babies coming out of a shower head. Best baby shower card ever.
They have funky homewares, clothes, lights, furniture, crockery, shoes, watches, books, toys and all sorts of other nick-​nacks. Definitely one of the best gift or homewares shops in the east end of the Adelaide suburbs.

Magill seems to be a great spot to find cool home wares and antiques. I am in the market for cool decorations for my home and drove past this store called Flouish.
From the sign outside the store I thought it was a florist, but then I saw some Joseph Joseph bowls on a stall in front and knew that I had to check it out. For those who do not know that brand, it is a super cool homewares design brand. Worth checking out and is generally sold in cool designer homewares stores.
Flourish is decorated and stocked with some pretty cool designer homewares. You will find everything from cool lamp shades, furniture, clothing hooks, frames, light bulbs and art. The style of stock is a little more on the unique designer style. My eye was caught by a concrete lamp shade and a recycled clothing rack. So I guess this store would attract those who are into the eclectic and vibrant style of homewares. Make sure you look in the downstairs area which full ofl furniture and larger items for sale.
The pricing on the items in the store was quite affordable. I was really surprised with the cost of some items. If you are after decorative pieces that are unique to department stores, check this store out!

Lots of competition on this section of Magill Rd and if your a homewares fanatic its an easy place to lose a few hours fossicking among them. Flourish has an interesting mix of items and doesn’t just include homewheres. They have an interesting collection of stationary, kids toys, soaps, clothing, jewellery as well as a mix of classy items to fill your decorating needs.
Downstairs has a range of chairs, pillows, throws and lots of textures that make you want to reach out and touch. They also have an interesting range of books on design, craft and fashion… in fact I think this store covers its bases and has something for everyone even the kids!

Flourish is one of the more interesting décor, decoration and designer jewelery shops along this stretch of Magill Road. The owner sources his pieces from all around Australia as well as many through import, and restores the furniture himself. There are some beautiful old chairs, one called a «Bedouin» chair, with an enormous seat and heavy, coarse woven material covering. Downstairs are the larger furniture pieces, and there are some gorgeous footrests made from patchwork, and some beautiful old chairs.
I was most taken by the hanging garden that sits next to the front door, with gorgeous little pots hanging from a ladder-​like wooden frame. It could go inside or outside and would be a beautiful display.
The jewelry is mostly made from painted wood, and has an attractive simplicity about it, whilst being bright and cheerful.
The front counter has many curiosities around it, including some very funny books of awkward family and pet photos, and journals to keep track of your sexual fantasies or for chronic insomniacs to analyse why they’re not sleeping on any given night with quotes on every left hand page for a 3am out-​of-​your-​mind chuckle.
I like the thought that goes into everything in this shop. It’s a great place for interior design inspiration.

This shop is a new addition to the Magill Road furniture and homewares mecca. It’s popped up in the space that used to be Tony Bond’s gallery 139. Thank goodness they’ve come over to this side of the city to share a little of the flourish love. I think this is the second store, with the other residing on King William Road.
I was delighted to see some really big, appealing cushions and rugs in the downstairs part, along with the usual cut tin lanterns and wrought iron look decorations, (including a bed).
To be honest, my personal weekness are the gorgeous Elk bags. There is also a bunch of clothing past the counter in the second room. Perfect spot to pick up interesting gifts and knick knacks.

Flourish on Magill is a great store if you’re after a present for someone or just want to spoil yourself. They sell the really nice Laguiole knives by Andre Verdier, awesome scented candles and some very interesting books on design. It’s a bit of a mixture of everything in there. They also stock things like leather bags, some clothes, jewellery, wallets and a small selection of furniture downstairs.
Whereas many shops on Magill Road are often quite empty, this one is always buzzing with people and I only put part of the reason for that on the friendliness of staff. Prices are moderate and you can buy a nice present for someone at anything between $ 30 and $ 80.
