Worst clinic I’ve ever gone to in my entire life. Receptionists were incredibly rude and immature. It’s a known fact when booking a pap smear that you let the receptionist/​doctor know, as they need longer consultations. After informing the receptionist, she laughed at me and then used a tone that suggested I had shared too much information.
My consultation with the doctor was awful. She was incredibly rude, monotone, was not paying attention to anything I was saying and was so judgemental. Don’t be a doctor if you’re going to judge a sexually active 20 year old who is trying to protect her health by doing what’s recommended… by getting a pap smear. Even if I had led a sexually promiscuous life (the one partner of 3 years suggests otherwise), it does not mean any woman deserves to be looked at with such disgust.
She was also incredibly rough, which was very painful. After I told her of the pain, she told me it was normal and continued on in the same rough manner. No. A pap smear should NOT be painful, it should not make a woman bleed so much and unable to walk afterwards.
But that is not all. After my awful encounter with this «doctor», I went to reception and told them I do not want any results being sent to my home address. The receptionists raised their voices and each began demanding questions «Why don’t you want it sent to your house?», «we don’t even do that? we always call you to come in», «you should have told your doctor». I told them I had, and my «doctor» had referred me to the receptionists.
Lo and behold, a couple weeks later and my results are sent straight into my mailbox. Disgusting.
This place is an absolute joke. I would never come in here again. They do not respect a person’s body or their right to privacy.
Don’t waste your time.

Absolute joke of an establishment. There are no redeeming factors. The doctors are late, one once forgot my appointment because she was hungry and needed lunch, the doctors are barely interested and don’t even try to hide that fact, don’t expect to get called when results come in, don’t expect to be referred to the correct places and don’t take anything you’re told there as gospel. When you faint in a busy shopping complex (and believe it or not this has happened to me twice), they make you go to the doctors if they have one on site.
It’s pretty embarrasing being wheelchaired through Knox to the medical centre.
I have to say, they were not exactly thorough. They asked me if I was okay, took my blood pressure, and told me to have someone pick me up. Ofcourse, I stupidly drove home.
I haven’t been back to this place, but if you are shopping and in need of medical attention, I suppose it’s quite handy.

Access Medical Centre is the place you go to when you haven’t really got anywhere else to go. It tends to get a lot of walk-​ins and is pretty busy all the time.
Located outside a busy shopping centre it is not generally a place you want to go to when you are sick as plenty of people will see you on your walk through the car park in Ugg boots and old jumper. If you are a worker at the centre however, it is really convenient as any injuries you incur can be treated with a quick visit to the Medical Centre.
The staff there can be quite snappy with patients and get annoyed if you don’t have your Medicare card or payment ready before you reach the counter. It’s fair enough considering they often have twenty people or more sitting in a waiting room and giving them frustrated looks, but when you are tired and unwell it hardly makes you feel better. Waiting times are pretty short if you have an appointment so I would definitely advise booking in, otherwise get there early for a walk in.
The general practitioners here are pretty friendly and are good at their jobs. I rate the value of medical care very highly. I’ve had a few injections here and they have always been very well done with minimal bruising and friendly conversations with the nurses.
