Wonderful food last night. The chicken tikka and vindaloo were just excellent. Store for BYO very close to restaurant.

First visit last night. The homemade Samosas are an excellent way to start your meal.
The main courses are typically flavoured with the sauces.

We tried the New Shalimar for a Wednesday night meal with friends.
We’ve previously been disappointed with the quality of Perth Indian food, but were surprised at the more authentic style of curries they served. There was a good selection of both meat and vegetarian choices and they were all a natural colour rather than the artificial bright colours of some Indian restaurants. None were excessively oily either.
They have some midweek special offers, but we didn’t think they were much of a saving or adventurous as we wanted to be more interesting than chicken tikka masala and korma.
All the dishes were fairly mild, even the vindaloo and madras, but that wasn’t a problem.
Despite what others have said, we found the portions to be on the smaller side, and the rice and bread was massively overpriced. $ 8 for a «large» rice which was really only enough for two people is too much. For the curries, we had 5 dishes amongst 4 people and had some leftovers, which the waitress was kind enough to offer to pack to take home if we wanted. We didn’t bother as it was mostly just sauce.
On a positive note, they offer BYO, and didn’t charge us any corkage. Although they did nothing for us regarding the wine, like an ice bucket, so it would have been a bit rude to charge anything.

Probably the best Indian takeaway I’ve had. Everything was delicious!
Chicken 65 was awesome. Sticky, slightly spicy pieces of chicken — and the serve was definitely generous.
The other standout was the Palak Paneer, A really rich and creamy spinach and paneer curry.
They also do curry pies which I’m keen to try.
Nice décor if you’re looking to dine in and online ordering if you’d prefer to takeaway.
Will definitely be back.

Cheap, flavoursome and delicious curry house! Coming for the UK where Indian is the national dish, we were looking for somewhere that does equally good curries in Perth, which has been hard. But then we came across this little gem and have been back repeatedly, sometimes weekly to get our curry fix. It’s great for a quick cheap mid night meal for two, or for a large group on a Saturday/​Friday night, though booking is required as it’s small and gets booked out! BYO is an bonus and don’t be out off by having to go through the kitchen to the toilet, it’s all part if the experience! Great chef and good wait staff. Would recommend and do to everyone!

Delicious curries at a cheap price in Perth?! where have you been all my life?!
Everything we tried on the menu was delicious especially the garlic naan (ORDER MORE)
We had the butter chicken, lamb vindaloo & the vegetable korma, all so tasty and relatively big servings!
The service was a bit crazy and all over the place so this might actually be a better place to takeaway, but any mistakes made were quickly rectified and when the bill came out some of the items were given to us for free due to the stuff ups.
It is BYO so great value for a nice dinner.
I would definitely come again :)

This is one of my favourite Indian restaurants. Although it doesn’t look like much from the outside, it has amazing and authentic Indian food. We have also had a few birthdays there where they have catered up to 30 of us and the food has still been amazing!
