My husband and I had breakfast here recently, I think for a small café which hasn’t been running too long, they did extremely well and will hopefully take on board the other comments. We found the staff to be friendly and attentive. The meal was delicious and our mugs of coffee & Chai hot and tasty. The décor is nice and welcoming. Our only complaint would be the 2% credit card fee! Good luck & I hope it continues to go well for you.

When six willows first opened, I thought, «Finally, a decent café in Willetton is available to have coffee and breakfast.» Unfortunately all I can say is much could be improved in terms of coffee, the food and staff. This review is not biased from a one off experience as I made sure to go at least 5 times to give the café benefit of doubt and sadly I will not be returning. Firstly the café has hired inexperienced staff who do not know the art of customer/staff interaction, or coffee making. When an order has been taken wrongly, not that I minded, initiative should be taken to ask what the initial order was, and give a refund of extra costs if more was charged wrongly, but no, an apology was all that was given. When food has been left untouched there was no courtesy to inquire why at all on more than one occasion. Lastly, when beans are stated that they are slow cooked, one would expect beans that dont look like Heinz canned beans that are also crunchy and served in a tiny Ramekin for $ 16. Bacon is always served coated with all the oil it was cooked in and always floppy. On a plus side, the staff are friendly and eggs are always well done. I would have given feedback on my experience to staff in person rather than writing one here, if only they took the time to inquire and at least seemed interested in your experienxe especially with all the hints given(unfinished food). Such a pity though considering it is a quaint and sweet café that is conveniently located. Its these little things that stop people from becoming loyal regulars, never take quality for granted-one cup of below average coffee can be major deterrent to any customer returning. All the best Six Willows I hope this feedback serves you well in all sincerity.

Six Willows in Willetton is a new café that’s been making a few waves on social media since it opened in July, in part thanks to pictures of some rather good looking milkshakes, so we headed south of the river last week to see what all the fuss was about. When we arrived there were three staff behind the counter, although our entry wasn’t acknowledged by any of them so we sat down at a table and waited. Then we went looking for a menu. Ordering at the counter was a strange experience, I almost felt the need to apologise just for being there. After my payment was taken I waited for the EFTPOS receipt, but no paperwork or further eye contact was forthcoming and after a rather awkward pause I headed back to our table. Coffee is from Brisbane-based roaster Di Bella. I ordered my usual long mac and was offered it in a mug with a triple-shot, which sounded like a good idea at the time but it was too strong, and remained largely in the cup. They serve a large range of interesting drinks, including red ones made with rooibos tea, and lots of matcha. Renay ordered the tomato & mushroom bruschetta($ 11) which was good value and quite delicious, made with quality sourdough and a generous serving of fresh parmesan on top. I ordered the«Rustic Breakfast» with 60-degree eggs, dukkah, pea purée, bacon, mushrooms and potato rosti($ 18). The bacon was okay but there wasn’t much of it, the mushrooms were nice, the rosti tasted strange — lemon? — and I didn’t get any pea purée. I’m not sure what the spinach was doing on the plate. The one thing impossible to fault about this breakfast was the 60-degree eggs. Wow. Perfect. You can order two of these on sourdough for a mere $ 6, which is ridiculously cheap. Our breakfast at Six Willows was odd from start to finish, and this was not what I was expecting given their seemingly organised presence on social media. Go for the eggs, not for the service.
