Great casual dinner place just off of Chapel St. Antiques are everywhere so it’s really quirky. Variety of tables to sit at if you don’t mind sitting in odd positions whilst eating(or drinking). As vegetarians(but we do eat fish) the menu is good and all serves off 3 can be made into 4 with the dumplings. My favorite was the Har Gow and it’s a good size and prawn is whole as opposed to mince. Really liked all the dishes, which included prawn, crab and scallop dumplings and scallop dumplings. We’ve been here in groups before and everyone has enjoyed it. Good value too and it’s BYO. Menu is not massive which I like as don’t get overwhelmed with choice and I like it when kitchens focus on fewer items. I give it 4 stars in this casual dining price bracket. I would recommend if you haven’t been as will go back when I have my next dumpling craving.

Been eating here for the last 4 – 5 years. Great, intimate setting but also for large groups etc… Drinks and tea are great. Quick service, really tasty food. Busy on the weekends so make sure you book.

Great service. Had 8 ppl so the pris fix menu was perfect for us. We almost rolled out of there extremely satiated. Whilst not the bestest yum cha ever it was very tasty and i WILL go back again. Beautiful antiquey décor and ‘cabana’ with pillow section. Lovely way to spend an after work dinner w friends!

Best Dish Forward: BBQ Pork Dumpling(yes I know classic white guy recommendation) Solid yum cha, well decked out restaurant. Something you should know about me, when I get a little tipsy I can get a bit clepto. But what, am I going to put the hurt on some yum cha and not drink my weight in tsingtao? Either way, I may not be welcome back, but I will always have a miniature Buddah figurine to remember my time there.

What a charming oriental ambience to indulge in some Chinese cuisine. Mark ‘The Terrifying Sharptooth’ and I walked in off the street at 10.30pm on a Saturday night(after trading hours), and we were warmly welcomed and seated at a private and intimate, wooden antique table complete with cushioned bench seats. The room itself is old and drear, but has been completely revamped and decked out with ‘Old China’ antique furnishings to create a cultural experience. And if you’re part of a larger group, there are quaint huts with cushions spread out around a larger table to add to your dining experience. The menu offers an array of dim sum, yum cha, loose leaf teas and of course other Asian delights to kill your hunger pangs. It’s a pretty good restaurant if you’re craving dumplings and unique dining. Unfortunately, the service can be a little slow and confused. P. S. did I mention they also do take away?!

We found this place to be a pleasant surprise and a unique dining concept. We were a walk-in(no booking) of 2 on a busy Friday night and the place was packed. After a brief couple of minutes that were touch-and-go, we were seated. They even happily accommodated our request for a different set of antique seats which were carried from the other side of the restaurant(or store, depending on how you look at it). The food was quality, tasty yum cha-style dishes for the most part, and everything we tried on the night was a success. The big surprise was the reasonably priced wine list which was concise, but it had a few little gems. We had a 2011 Best’s Pinot Meunier which was perfect with the food and only a few buck over the standard retail price. Try Red Door.
