Heuriger

Gemütlich, urtümlich, urig… das beschreibt das Lokal wohl am besten. Auch der Gastgarten ist genauso gemütlich wie der Innenraum. Leider darf im Lokal geraucht werden, weshalb ich einen Stern weniger gebe.

This is an authentic Vintner’s wine bar off a quiet street in Guntramsdorf. The place allows smoking inside so be aware of this.
Full of locals as well as long time customers from all over. I did not see anyone who wasn’t Austrian in there.
It’s quite small with a very nice outdoor area for warm weather. There are about 12 – 15 tables. Very European, very authentic and cozy atmosphere.
The owner was kind enough to show me an amazing, huge old wine press that has been in his family since 1703! Thats older than David Hasselhoff.
The house wines (1 red and 4 white) made locally are fantastic examples of Austrian wine. These are great wines and uniquely Austrian. There are also several kinds of prepared meats and salads produced by the vineyard as well. Everything is local and of the finest quality.
I am a recovering vegetarian and was forced to order the supposedly legendary schweinsbraten with horseradish. This is a slow cooked pork roast, sliced on bread, of the highest local quality, so I could not say nein. The horseradish was also freshly prepared and local — as was the bread it sat on while sweetly calling to me: «…vegetarianism is a mistake, Kinski… a mistaaaaaaake… you are forgiven, my son.»
The dish was indeed legendary. Obviously, I thusly felt justice and a higher cause had been served — and served up tasty. I felt purified.
Service is friendly and quick. I was told tipping of the servers is nice but do not tip the owner.
This establishment is so cheap, I did a double-​take when I got the bill. Glasses of truly awesome wines for 1.20 Euros!
Highly, highly recommended. Don’t tell anyone.

Urig, urtümlich. Dieser Heurige setzt sich in angenehmer Art und Weise von den in der Umgebung üblich gewordenen Heurigen-​Restaurants ab. Wer Wert auf einen guten Wein (besonders hervorzuheben der Königsast), eine uriges sauberes Lokal mit kleinem aber feinem Buffett (das Schweinsbratenbrot mit Kren. ein Gedicht !!!) und netten am Boden gebliebenen Wirtsleuten legt, wird sich hier sofort wohlfühlen. Auch der wild-​verwachsene Innenhof gibt einem das Gefühl, das hier die Zeit stehen geblieben ist. jedoch nicht die Qualität. Nicht umsonst meinen viele junge und junggebliebene Guntramsdorfer, dass es hier den besten weißen Spritzer gibt. Prost !

zusammen mit dem netten Publikum ist das ein traditioneller, normal gebliebener und nicht dem schiki-​miki Getue anheimgefallener Platz, um die Mühen des Alltags zu lindern. :-)
