Really great value for money! Our stay at the NH Wien was quite charming! When we first got there, the entrance to the hotel was a tad tricky, but we figured it out in no time! Even at nighttime, walking through this entrance on Mariahilfer Strasse, there were a few hobos, but we were more worried about waking them up late at night than our own safety. The location is very close, and just a subway ride away from the central of Vienna, walkable in the summer if you really want to! If you aren’t a fan of hobos, the other entrance around the corner(Stiftgasse to Lindengasse) through the parking entrance is much nicer, and just around the block from its entrance on the shopping street. We paid under 70 Euro a night for a twin room which was HUGE, and they did not even charge us extra when we asked for an added pull-out sofa for an extra person. Breakfast wasn’t included, but our go-to place for breakfast/brunch was the Leopold Café just a stones throw away from the hotel in the Museums Quartier in the Leopold Museum. As mentioned earlier the U-Bahn stop is right near the Museums Quartier so it is really quite convenient. We were in Room 512 and it was HELLA spacious and we could not have asked for more… we were content plus more, and major thumbs up for service, and location for the price! The room was clean, and the cleaning staff were on point and even folded our clothes for us… absolutely winning! Also the amenities were new and updated, hair dryer etc. WiFi was strong, and we had no issues connecting to multiple devices. Much better than other hotels I have been for the same price! I would recommend NH Wien City wholeheartedly! :)

After reading most very positive reviews, I am so very much disappointed by this hotel. Where are those large rooms that most of the reviewers write about? Where are the coffee/tea facilities in the rooms? The hotel website advertises its rooms as being ‘suites’. They must have put us in a different hotel ’cause our room(no. 511) was definitely NOT a suite being very small and worn out. Many tiles on the bathroom floor were broken, there were stains of oxidation everywhere. It was an attick room on the top floor for which we paid the same price as for a ‘suite’! We didn’t even have regular windows and couldn’t look outside. Oh well, there wasn’t anything to see anyway. We had requested a QUIET room, NOT facing the street. What did we get? Exactly, a room facing the street. Wich, obviously, we refused. After that we got the attick room. Both rooms were the same size, so the information on their website is very misleading telling that all the rooms are ‘suites’. What a joke! The entrance to the hotel on Mariahilfer Strasse is very difficult to find. It is at the end of a shopping gallery. At night when the shops in the gallery are closed you better avoid taking this entrance. It’s pretty seedy and filthy with homeless people lying around. Take the other entrance, around the corner via Stiftgasse to Lindengasse through the parking entrance. It’s not a nice entrance either, but it feels safer. This is definitely not the best location in Vienna, to say the least. Mariahilfer Strasse is a long and ugly shopping street with low profile brands such as Zara, H&M, … chains that can be found anywhere in the world. It is outside the Viennese Ringroad, so not central. Fortunately enough there is a U-Bahn stop closeby to get you to the monuments in the centre. And we were lucky to find a few good restaurants in the Spittelberg area, some 10 min. walk from the hotel. Positive then. The breakfast was good and extensive but the floor of the breakfast room was very dirty, and so were the placemats on the tables. The WiFi in the room worked fine(even on the 5th floor) and the room was quiet. We won’t stay there again, and my confidence in the NH chain is totally gone.

Sehr zentral gelegenes Hotel.
