I must have eaten at Nordsee 4 – 5 times in Vienna and Salzburg. Quick and easy food which is pretty good if you stay away from the fried stuff. Salmon filet and veggies, lox and bagel, how can you go wrong? Fast food that is not the typical heart attack waste bulging junk one finds in the states.

Food was mediocre.
They tend to cook/​fry most of the food and put them in warmers. We got the fish & chips– we wanted a small order, but only «large» is available for dine in. Also, I ordered the «cocktail» shrimp, which is 5.99 for 100 grams, which is about less than half of a pound. I only wanted a few to try, so she gave me three shrimps. She put the shrimps on a heavy, glass plate & weighed the whole thing. I doubt she zeroed out the plate and weighed only the shrimps. But my THREE shrimps cost me 2.99… I’m sorry, but that’s about 1 euro for 1 shrimp. That’s ridiculous. Maybe she just didn’t like tourists because she wasn’t friendly at all.
*ketchup is 40 «cents» by the way

Seafood perfection! I wish they had more places like this in Los Angeles, California. This place was awesome. I accidentally dropped a bottle of beer when trying to check out and they didn’t charge me for it. They were really nice and the food was delicious.

Vienna, Austria
Nordsee is simple and straightforward. You get great fish cooked in simple ways. This restaurant chain reliably offers quick, good food at reasonable prices. I was impressed that they don’t charge for tap water here! Unfortunately that’s become a «thing» in Austria. I was able to order a simple fried fish with tartare sauce with no sides (not even fries) for just 6 euros. I wouldn’t come here for a night out, but when I’m in the city and need a quick meal this is a great alternative.

A terrific place for a quick healthy snack in a fancy shopping area. Contrary to some comment I have been here morning and night and have seen no change in the delightful freshness of the food. Try the huge sollenfilet or the small salmon and shrimp sandwiches. Unbeatable

Seafood fast food restaurant, great for a quick lunch!
The fried shrimp and chips box is very popular as well as their wraps and fish burgers.
For those who want to eat a meal there, they offer freshly cooked fish with rice, potatoes or vegetable for the side dish. They also have salads too. I like this nordsee in Kärntnerstraße more than other nordsees because this restaurant always have many customers so their food are always fresh and hot. Each dish range from 8 – 11 € and everything can be takeout!
Nordsee often have seasonal coupons so if you have them you could enjoy a nice meal there for a very good price!
I recommend the salmon filet or the codfish filet with melted cheese and mushrooms on top!

Also die Nordsee im allgemeinen ist ein Selbstbedienungsladen, also einmal kein Ort wo man gemütlich sitzt und sein Essen genießen kann. Wobei ich finde so übermäßig günstig für dieses Ambiente ist die Nordsee auch nicht. Was ich lecker finde ist die Fischsuppe, aber die frisch gegrillten Garnelen etc. Haben auch einen stolzen Preis, das bekomme ich auch in einer anderen Location mit Netter Bedienung .aber für einen schnellen Imbiss oder ein Fischbrötchen für unterwegs gehts schon.

We where walking around and it was so cold. We where site seeing and we came across this place. I wanted some fish so I had some fish sticks and fritters. Cheap and real fast. It was like a fast food joint. There was a huge line and the employees where helpful since I didn’t know the language. She explained some things as best as she could and helped me out. I would go there again even though it was mostly fast food but there are salads too. I ended up going there again anyways.

Nordsee is a seafood-​oriented fast-​food chain enterprise. Lots of fried choices (friend shrimp, fried fish bits, etc), along with various seafood sandwiches.
The main advantage of this branch is they are one of the few places you can grab a quick bite later in the evening along Kärntnerstrasse. Prices are a tad high for what they serve, but less costly than if you were to get something to eat in a nearby restaurant or café.
Quality of what’s left can dip a bit as the hours pass, so choose carefully if you are getting something to eat toward closing time.

Nordsee mitten in Wien.
Dieser Fischkantine kann ich wenig Erfeuliches abgewinnen. Überall Convenience, Ferig — oder Halbfertigprodukte, durch die Fritteuse, über den Grill, unter dem Salamander hervor Gezogenes und dafür raubt man die Meere aus.
Wassrige Erdäpfel, barsch gewürze Wedges, mächtig hefeteigige Brötchen die an den angeschnittenen Ufern mit einem grünen Hering, einem lappigen Salatblatt und einer ekelig schmeckenden Sc. Remoulade belegt sind, doch geht man weiter, nämlich in die Tiefe der Semmel, ist die mit Leere und sonst gar nix mehr gefüllt, dagegen kommen mir die Preise ziemlich hoch vor.
Auch hier lässt sich schlechter Geschmack und mindere Qualit. gut bezahlen. Mein Boykott ist ihnen sicher.
