Tomorrow we’re leaving for home and I hadn’t bought anything to bring Nina. I wanted to pick up a dish towel, as she has brought me two from France on different occasions that I treasure. There is a kitchen and table goods store downstairs across from the cathedral. Their stock was lovely but they had no dish towels. As we were walking back toward the hotel I noticed a sign across the street that said«Unique Souvenirs», so we headed for it. The first thing I saw was a black t-shirt w/a rendition of Gustav Klimpt’s «The Kiss». The woman who worked there found my size and then held up a shirt to «model» so we could see it out of the package. Mine! I asked her about dish towels and she told me they had them downstairs, took one look at my walking stick and offered to bring some up for me to look at. I very much appreciated her kindness. There were several patterns and colors in English and in German. The one I liked best was in German so that’s the one we bought. They also have magnets, Mozartian rubber duckies and other tourist tchotchkes. It seems to be a single store, not a chain and the quality of their merchandise looks good. If you need souvenirs to bring back, this is the place for you.
