Pizzeria Venezia

This place is more than just a pizzeria. They offer quite a variety of dishes to choose from. If you enjoy pasta and risotto as I do you won’t be disappointed. Their prices aren’t bad and their quantities are fairly generous. I’d say it’s worth it especially if you’re really hungry. In any case you take the rest to go for left overs.

Nice Italian restaurant on the Kärntnerstraße. During the summer, you can sit outdoors.
The portions are big and satisfying. Best spaghetti bolognes that I ever had. Pizza was crispy and delicious too.
Even though the restaurant is located in downtown, the prices are surprisingly reasonable. I would definitely recommend this restaurant!

We were in Vienna over New Year’s and were looking for somewhere to eat for New Year’s eve that wouldn’t break the bank. We spotted this restaurant on our first day in Vienna, so the night before New Year’s eve, we made reservations with the owner, a very sweet lady for 8pm New Year’s Eve. When we arrived for our table on New Year’s Eve we were surprised to see that had reserved us the table that was right next to the window with a great view of Stephensplatz to watch the New Year’s festivities. The staff couldn’t have been more friendly. The food was very good and I think our total bill for 4 people was around $ 100… on New Year’s eve!

If you are strolling around Stephansplatz in the heart of Vienna, you are sure to wander down Kärntner Straße and spy gobs of tourists and locals sitting in the outdoor café tables taking in the location.
While this Italian fare in the heart of Wien is not knock your socks spectacular, you can get some basic good Italian food at a lower touristy price while enjoying the wonder of Wiein.
Sit at the café table and order a glass of Grüner Veltliner and partake in the beef Carpaccio, which is quite good! And while that may be enough, if you were starving that day, as I was, having missed lunch, you can also try one of their many pizza’s or pasta dishes.
Based on the advice of the server (which generally never steers me wrong when abroad), I ordered the Tagliatelle Filipo (pasta with beef, tomato, and red wine sauce) which was rustic and earthy.
You can top your evening off with a dolce, but I opted for an espresso.
Go alone or go with friends… you will never feel like you are dining alone here.

Wenn man könnte, würde man drüberstolpern — über den Gastgarten von der Pizzeria Venezia in der Kärntner Straße. Ich kann sie ja nicht leiden — sie werden jedes Jahr größer und die Kärntner Straße ist dann noch vollgestopfter als sie ohne schon ist. Für jemand, der dort arbeitet und schnell mal vorankommen möchte ein Albtraum.
Wenn man allerdings schnell mal nen Hunger am Abend hat oder schnell mal eine Pizza möchte, dann bin ich doch manchmal hingegangen. Vor allen Dingen, weil die Leibspeise eine meiner Freundinnen Pizza ist und da bietet sich die Venezia an. Für das was sie bietet, ist sie allerdings nicht billig. Sie ist eher in die obere Preiskategorie einzuordnen. Im Restaurant selber ist alles ein bisschen kitschig, will aber glaube ich, doch nobler daherkommen.
Die Pizzen selbst sind ok. Im Gastgarten sitzt sich’s auch ganz gut. Aber so wirklich nette Stimmung will halt bei mir einfach nicht aufkommen, wenn mir irgendwelche vorbeirauschenden Passanten in mein Essen starren.
Das was beizeiten ganz gut ist: Das Lokal hat auch eine Art Pizza Schnellimbiss, wo man auch einfach ein Stück Pizza mitnehmen kann. Die Pizzen haben dann auch ein bessere Qualität im Vergleich zu manch anderem Vertreter in der Gegend.

Kellner freundlich (auch gegenüber Kindern ;)), Pizza war sehr gut und Preise sind OK !
