Continuing to discover Antwerp restaurant — for tonight we have enjoy the fish food at this place. Salmone tartare and pasta vongole from the day suggestions were delicious. A nice rose on top and what else to make a great evening? Of course a friendly service despite the film terrace :) great place!

So happy that we had made dinner reservations for Fiskebar during our stay in Antwerp! The food was indeed excellent, we enjoyed all of our dishes very much along with the nice and friendly atmosphere. If I’d live in Antwerp Fiskebar would be one of those no brainer places to celebrate birthdays, romantic dinners and all those special occasions :)

As being situated on one of the hip places in town and since it’s always full house, we wanted to check this one out as well. All doors were wide open, so me and my dining partner entered. Actually it was 5 min before opening time and we didn’t have a reservation. We approached a waitress, who uninterested told us that the restaurant would open in 5 minutes. She also told us we could book a table and come back in a few minutes !?! Even more, she told us to get an apéritif somewhere else. We were so baffled that we actually forgot to turn around and leave this place. Anyway the main waiter took over and we finally got a table. I ordered one of the suggested menus from that day; the soup and the fish were definitely fine. No complaints about the food. After telling this story to a few other people who have been there, I got feedback that they also got an absolutely rubbish service with the result that they also concluded to not visit this place again. In short: good food, terrible service! 2 star rating(for the food)

I went to the Fiskebar for a birthday party. Wow! Such great, fresh seafood and fish. Perfect for a group. We also had great service!

The service was horrible, incredibly rude, with unreasonable prices. The food was very good which is the only reason I’m giving it a 2 star rating. This is one of the very few restaurants I’ll never visit again after a first try.

Ah ouais. fan !

Very popular fishrestaurant. The place to be for those who like fish. Make sure you make a reservation. I can recommend as starter the shrimpcroquettes«garnalenkroketjes». They are excellent. I make always a choice from the suggestions and have never been disappointed. When there is risotto that’s what I usually take. Service oriented friendly staff. Price quality relation is in balance. Visit once this restaurant and you will go back!

I wandered into this lovely place on my recent trip to Belgium. I feel so lucky to find a place with English menu. The normal menu was really just a chalkboard. I was sitting at the bar. The staff working there was super nice and friendly. They all speak English. The owner of the place is hilarious. I love them. Back to the food! The bartender told me that the sea bass was the best, but it was sold out for the night. They recommend getting the cod. I was skeptical at first, because typically the cod in US seafood restaurant are usually overcook and on the tougher side. But omg, this one was sooooo soft and pillowy. Just plain delicious. For dessert, I got the chocolate mousse cake, so so good. I can’t wait to go back next time I am in Antwerp. I was told that I should make a reservation! and they are open on sunday!

For those of us that are Mono-Lingual, ask for the special English menu they keep behind the counter otherwise you’ll be looking at the walls trying to identify words that you think mean something in English. This place was lively to say the least. If you can, make a reservation in advance. My waitress suggested the bass with potatoes. It was the whole fish and came well seasoned. It was also stuffed with herbs and lemon slices that helped distribute the flavor. Everything was wonderful. I then ordered dessert. Now for all of my friends that like to drink, wait for it, wait for it… I had lemon sorbet with a shot of Vodka. The combination just put a smile on my face. The sweetness of the sorbet masked the kick from the vodka. Oh it was sooooo good.

I saw all the good reviews and had to go! Pretty much everyone gives a good description. I called ahead of time and made a reservation. I had the salmon with mashed potatoes and they were bright green! Some kind of basil mixed in that made it sooo good! Also the butter that comes with the bread is garlicy with some sort of herb — to die for! Lastly I ended the night with a cup of red vanilla peach tea and it was completely amazing.

Fiskebar is one of the most loveliest restaurants in Antwerp. This place is literally one of the best restaurants for seafood. I loved everything about this restaurant. The food, service and ambiance was outstanding! In some cultures, it’s considered rude to clean your plate but the food was so dam good that I could not resist! The seafood here is the freshest and much well liked among the locals. We were fortunate to have been seated upstairs, because the scenery and atmosphere was charming. I most say this place will be marked as one of my most memorable experiences in Belgium.

Best Fish Restaurant in town… Don’t need to say more. Also… make sure to make reservations a couple of days in advance. These guys are filling up their tables up to 3 time per night!

Everything on the plate was delicious. Perfectly prepared dorado, rosemary fried potatoes, salad right from the garden. Prices reasonable given quality. Also enjoyed an unusual king crab appetizer. Better with a reservation.

While visiting Antwerp, we were recommended this restaurant for the«freshest fish» in the city by a local. The place did not disappoint. Simple but delicious mussels with butter and garlic, divine calamari(think real mini octopus not the fried rings), cheap beers and a really delicious, complimentary loaf of bread with a pot of herb butter with rock salt made this a perfect meal. The staff was friendly, knowledgable and quick. The design of the restaurant seemed very Scandinavian. In a happening neighborhood with plenty of equally tempting dining options, Fiskebar really stood out.

Hands down my favorite restaurant in Antwerp. Best fish at reasonable prices. Three courses for two people, plus wine bottle or glass runs around 95 Euros. The menu is scripted on a chalkboard above and around the bar. It is fantastic for food, people, and service. GO here. You will not regret it. Make a reservation as it is small and very popular!
