Really really awful. We stayed here for the world cup and thought for the price and location, we might be getting a decent hotel. Better than a hostel at least, right? We booked a double room and they gave us two single beds, both of which felt like you were sleeping on a box spring with only a shortened sheet between you and the mattress. The floors and bathroom had a grimmey film on them. The room was freezing and had no way to adjust the temperature. There was also no additional bedding for if you were cold, so I just shivered all night. The worst part however, was the smell. It smelled worse inside the room than outside, like someone used the air vent as a toilet. Our reservation also came with breakfast. Everything was cold, even if it wasn’t meant to be. The juices were horribly watered down, which with lots of foreigners in for the cup, might explain some of the terrible smells. Checked bags were kept in the space directly behind the host counter for all to see. There was only one small 4-person max elevator for guests, so on game day you were either granted a kindness by housekeeping to use their elevator or took the emergency stairs littered with old mattresses and furniture. When we asked the host to call us a taxi to the airport, she told us to go outside and someone would help us. When we did no-one showed up for 10 minutes. Only when I started walking to a taxi to make arrangements for myself did someone appear to help us. This wins the prize of the worst hotel I’ve ever been in.
