THEBIGGESTWASTEOF $ 532REAL! My boyfriend and I just got back from Rio, and I decided the first review I am writing is for this restaurant. When a restaurant leaves you feeling like you got financially robbed that’s not good! They charge $ 210 Real for trash. This is a tourist trap. If a cab driver or anyone recommends, do not take them up on this place. I think the cab drivers get kick backs for referring tourists. The service was average at best. They do have a wide selection of meats and seafood, but everything was either overcooked and seasoned poorly. The cod, shrimp, lobster, and salmon were all overcooked. The steak and beef were bland and tasteless. The staff were slamming plates, wine bottles, and glass everywhere. No one cleaned it up, and no one cared. This entire experience was very disappointing. Just go to Fogo in Botafogo, we loved it there and you probably will too!

Thankful for the free wifi so I could write this Unilocal review right now. They charged $ 11real per bottle of water. Pretty certain everyone is supposed to have at least 1 per diner. $ 210real a person and it’s a pirate themed nightmare. #1 as I’m sitting here there is someone throwing plates consistently in the kitchen. And no one cleans it up. #2 the entire wait staff looks confused and tortured #3 did I mention this is the most expensive meal we’ve had in rio?! #4 they zip tied my purse to the chair #5 someone is still breaking plates in the back. Do not walk, run… Anywhere else.

This was the best place we enjoyed dinner at during our trip to Brazil! The service was fantastic, the price was reasonable for the amount of food and the food was delicious! This was a last minute find on one of our last days but I highly recommend eating here! Most of the staff spoke English well enough to tell us the items and explain some of the ingredients! If you can splurge about $ 70 a person got a meal then go here!

E paid R$ 210 a head. Drinks are the most expensive you will find in Rio. Desert is not included. Service is good but overly attentive. It’s a Rodízio restaurant focused on sea food. For me it’s overpriced. Sure you can eat all the oysters and grilled lobster you want. But how much can you actually eat? Definitely not reccomended for the meat, for a traditional meat Rodízio go to somewhere like Fogo de Chao where they quality and variety of cuts is far superior. All the seafood dishes they brought, thou high quality filet etc was all flavoured in the same way — loads of salt, garlic and back pepper. For me you can have a amazing seafood dish in a top restaurant for half the price.

When I walked into Marius, I was definitely super confused. They seemed to have an aquatic pirate theme going on, but across our table was a metallic knight attacking a dragon… Okay, the décor was tacky, but at least the food and service was pretty good. Half of Marius is a standard buffet where you would go up and grab your food, and the other half is like a Brazilian grill, where they bring grilled seafood and meat to you. My personal favorites were the baby beef and the oysters. The beef was juicy and full of flavor, and the oysters were nothing special, but it was all you can eat, and I love me some oysters!!! I will say that some of the seafood, especially the lobster tails, were extremely salty. Additionally, I noticed the servers with the grilled food started to shy away from our table towards the end of the meal. Disappointing, but expected. The service we received was top notch. Special shout out to Michael, who was able to explain to some confused Americas the difference between Cahacas and Mojitos and just for being an extremely fun and friendly waiter in general. To be honest, for the price, I would probably not eat here again, but it’s worth the experience. NOTE: I gave 4 stars, but I’d say the meal was closer to 3.5

Came here last night with my husband and 2 friends. AYCE Brazilian BBQ for about $ 220R /$ 50USD a person. Drinks and dessert bar are separate. A handful of things were superb but most of it was just ok. Fav items were — wild boar ribs, Kobe beef, garlicky shrimp/calamari/lobster. Also really liked the Brazilian-style steak that comes in a tubular shape(forgot name). Some of it was cooked perfectly but half the items were overcooked :(so sad. My friend says the oysters were super good and you can grab these yourself(so quantity is not controlled by servers) and the fresh uni was ok(also at the self service bar). We were trying really hard not to eat too much of the early items they brought knowing they would bring the good stuff later. I wouldn’t even bother with the sirloin or filet. Tbone was good and ribeye is ok. Argentinian steak not bad. Fish was all overcooked. We also had a horribly off putting experience — we asked for more Kobe and they said sure — then they tried to trick us with Sirloin. Super shady and definitely intentional of them. My husband spit it out in protest. Watch out for this. They eventually brought us more Kobe(we were stubbornly waiting) but it wasn’t quite cooked as well as the first piece. This place also has a lot of tourists. I wouldn’t really recommend this place given the high price. It was fine.

The food was delicious, no complaints here. However, the service was appalling. 4 stars off for that because for $ 250USD I expect at least decent service. The fixed price was $ 220R each for 3 people plus we had a few alcoholic drinks and dessert, bringing the total to $ 889R. We were told that dessert was not included in the fixed price and 2 of us decided to eat dessert. My dad made the mistake of taking ONE bite of banana pudding from my plate and for that, he was charged $ 30R. We didn’t ask for the price of dessert beforehand, so when the bill came, I asked the manager what the extra $ 90R was, and he said dessert and gave me an irritated look. My dad told him that he didn’t eat any dessert and the manager made a big show about asking a server to come and point out what my dad ate. The server pointed to the banana pudding, which my dad had taken a bite from my plate. I’m not being cheap here, since this was already an expensive meal, but I didn’t like the fact that the manager was so rude about it. He actually slammed my credit card back onto the table after he completed the transaction. This was our last dinner in Rio and the experience was so disappointing. What a shame.

Omg seriously the worst place I have ever eaten in my life. We asked for the recommendation from our hotel and obviously they get a kick back/as we asked for a truly authentic Brazilian restaurant– and this was not it. We spent ridiculous money and only ate a small amount — the décor is disgusting and the restrooms have coffee beans all over them– lets just say — when you have sandals on gross! I will never go back ever If you want true brazillian steakhouse go to Foco de Chao — this is a tourist disgrace.

Firstly, the uniform and the décor was not at all my taste. The food was decent, however, several of the cuts were overcooked. When you take the price of $R170 into consideration then the place is quite bad if you consider the alternatives. Would not go there again and would instead go to a cheaper and better alternative.

A perfect way to begin or end a trip to Rio, Marius is your standard, all-you-can-eat Brazilian dining but with a kitschy decorum that is reminiscent more of Joe’s Crab Shack than of an upscale restaurant. Nonetheless the food is excellent — forcing yourself not to fill up on the«salad» bar(think smoked fish, octopus salad, sea urchin, oysters, and the like) proves to be challenging. Great place to go with a group.

Been here 3 times. Why do I keep coming back? Fresh oysters :) and since its buffet, I can take as much as I like. Though I must say that it has not been consistent. First time there, loved it, second time, oysters did not look too«healthy», third time there, oysters were really good. But basically — its a seafood buffet place. Waiters come around with crawfish, prawns, a variety of fish, octopus etc. They also have meats — beef, lamb… And a decent buffet spread for salads and sashimi. Be prepared to pay though. Price would be about R$ 200 including a soft drink or two per person(and this is excluding dessert). My advise — go for lunch on a weekend, take your time, enjoy the volume of food that is presented to you :)

Fancy Brazilian restaurant with a pirate theme. The bathrooms are pretty crazy and the staff is over-attentive. The buffet wasn’t appetizing unless you like seafood. For two people, we paid R$ 600. So a little more than R$ 100 per person that Unilocal had advised us on. The service was excellent and I didn’t want my rating to reflect that. But the overall value of our meal and experience did not warrant such a high price. Drinks charged separately. Be careful of the dessert, that’s also an extra charge. I keep going back to the charge from this one restaurant in my bank statement and can’t help but think of all the other things and places I could’ve spent my money. For example, I could’ve gone to Porção Rios twice over or catered to 4 people in a single meal. Would I recommend this place to a friend? No, certainly not someone I call a friend. I don’t know how the other reviewers walked out of this restaurant not feeling like they’d been robbed of their financial dignity. I wouldn’t have minded paying so much had I enjoyed our experience.

Eu não tenho certeza se entendi a vibe deste lugar. para mim, parece que eu ter entrado uma armadilha para turistas. A maioria dos hóspedes eram turistas que pareciam estar tendo um bom tempo ao fazer um burro de si mesmos. Eu estava relaxado quando eu vi os moradores locais. Os turistas e os moradores foram todos interagindo e se divertindo. A comida era muito boa, grandes porções e em abundância. Os drinques são forte e firme derramado. Por alguma razão os preços parecia estar sempre mudando. Talvez fosse o imposto gringo habitual. Ou a barreira da língua. Eu sei que isso aconteça de em alguns estabelecimentos com menus duelo. No entanto, isto não é justo para mim fazer uma suposição para Marius. Como Marius sempre teve uma boa reputação com o conselho de turismo. Basta ir verificá-la para si mesmo e se divertir. Confie em mim, você estará em boa companhia.

The food here is pricey for Rio standards but service is impeccable. They pick up your dirty plates constantly. Don’t come here for the beef/meat but come if you have a craving for seafood which is good. Lively ambiance and friendly staff. Come if you have a craving for all you can eat seafood and wanna splurge a little because it’s R$ 170/person. Desserts and drinks are extra. They sing Happy Bday for people who come to celebrate your Bday. I give it 4 star for mainly the service and décor but seafood is good too. Like everywhere the food tends to be salty.

This review is for dining experiences in 02⁄2014. A friend and I came here for dinner on the recommendation of our concierge. They gave us the option of meat, seafood, or both. We don’t discriminate so we got both =). The seafood/salad/soup bar is so extensive and its difficult to not binge on just that so be careful! All of the meat was melt in your mouth and seafood was so good. Well cooked and great flavors. They bring lots of different fish out so I’d pass on some of those to save room for lobster, shrimp, prawns, etc. Prices are comparable to any high end brazilian bbq restaurant in LA — its so worth it. You can get wine in any price range as well. The ambience is very cute, comfortable, and inviting. Services is great. We loved this place so much that we came back for our last lunch before leaving Rio!

Last day of our Honeymoon and we wanted to splurge on a delicious feast — and we picked a great place for it! First off, the seafood/salad bar was HEAVEN. UNLIMITEDRAWOYSTERS! And they weren’t shrivvely crappy oysters either but were very meaty and full-bodied and just so delicious and amazing! We both crammed our faces — I probably had around 20. The only problem with oysters is they take a lot of room on your plate and are dirty, so you can’t put much else on there or have room for meat. There were other great fishes on the bar and large asparagus and fried plantains and shrimp. the bar was truly amazing! My one disappointment was the salmon roe. There was some kind of citrus flavor saturating them which was a little gross. Had the salmon roe been normal I think my mind would have exploded with the amazing prospect of being able to eat unlimited quantities. The meat was also quite delicious. I don’t really know the cuts of meat that well but they came around with really tender, melt in your mouth meat, some seafood dishes as well, and ribs. Yum! The décor is eclectic, funky and fun! One table had a random giraffe on it and there were tons of things to look at. The bathrooms were cool too. Service was very friendly and we were relieved that the place is casual given our lack of fancy clothes. The Fogo de Chao in DC was the only comparison we had when coming here and that is super fancy. Marius is EXPENSIVE. But there are a lot of places around here that are. The food alone is just under $ 75/person NOT including drinks. We got some caiparinhas anyway and nursed them. Get your money’s worth while you are here by pounding back the OYSTERS and most expensive cuts of meat! I definitely recommend this if you want to splurge on a nice feast and appreciate seafood and meat! Great.

Caríssimo! Essa é a palvra que descreve o Marius, mas vale cada centavo, É um lugar que todo mundo deve ir pelo menos uma vez na vida. A comida é maravilhosa, com opções para todos os gostos. Destacam-se pelo rodízio de frutos do mar. As carnes também são divinas, com cortes especiais e um tempero maravilhoso. A decoração é outro show a parte. Acho que deve ser impossivel achar um espaço livre nas paredes, que são decoradas com os mais variados objetos, alguns com histórias bem interessantes. O menu de bebidas também é muito bom, com bebidas para todos os gostos e paladares. Outro ponto fortíssimo do restaurante é o serviço que é impecavel. Eles prestam atenção em todos os detalhes e estão sempre prontos a servir e auxiliar os clientes.

Lorsque j’y suis allée en 2005 nous y avons mangé de la viande Pas de poisson à cette époque. Ce fut délicieux, les serveurs nous chargeaient l’assiette de différents préparations, mais nous avions un guide qui nous recommandait d’attendre la viande rouge et de né pas se gaver trop sinon nous risquions de né plus avoir de place pour la meilleure des viandes. Nous avons fait ainsi et la viande servie en fin de repas fut la plus succulente des viandes rouge mangée de toute ma vie. La déco tres caverne d’ali baba. Très bons souvenirs GB

En Rio de Janeiro hay muchos restaurantes tipo rodizio y de buffet a precio fijo donde puedes comer todo lo que quieras pero hablar de Marius es hablar de un lugar donde no existe un carioca que no conozca. El Marius es una cadena prestigiosa que funciona desde hace más de 40 años y que yo particularmente lo llevo disfrutando desde el año 1995, concretamente éste que está al principio de la Playa de Copacabana. Buén buffet frío y excelentes carnes. El buffet de marisco y pescado fresco es espectacular y su decoración única. Bién atendido. Los aseos también son espectaculares, no me extraña que las mujeres se pasen media hora o más, maquillándose antes y después de llenar la barriga. Recomendable. Ah, ahora que me doy cuenta de que no he ilustrado mi comentario, que cabeza la mía!, ahí va unas fotografías y una tarjeta que guardo,(petite carte). Antes cuando era rodizio, rodizio es el tipo de restaurante brasileño que te pasa un garçon por la mesa con una espada de cortes de carnes y tu le dices que te ponga un trozo en el plato, Cada vez que van pasando los camareros llevan en cada espada un tipo de carne determinado. Es el único rodizio que vi donde te ponían una ficha en la mesa que por una cara era roja y la otra era verde, si mientras estás comiendo tienes en la mesa la ficha con la cara roja significa que no quiieres que te sirva más carne el garçon, por el momento, y eso facilita al camarero porque pasa directamente a otras mesas y no te pregunta si quieres más. Eso es sólo una curiosidad que he querido incluirla.

Ce fut bon, jusqu’en 2007. Aujourd’hui c’est le piège à touristes parfait. D ailleurs ilbn’y a plusun seul bresilien là !! J habite Rio et ce n’est vraiment pas là qu’il faut aller pour manger de Bons poissons ou fruits de mer à Rio. En plus très très cher. Je conseille plutôt Antiquarus à Leblon ou barra.

Bei einem Besuch in Rio ist das Restaurant«Marius» ein Pflichtveranstaltung. Ich glaube nicht, dass man in Rio besser essen kann. Allerdings ist es nicht ganz billig. Die Bedienung ist wirklich freundlich und hilfsbereit. Mein nächster besuch ist schon geplant

Das Marius in Rio ist wohl die beste Churrascaria, die ich in Brasilien(und anderen Städten) kenne. Es ist eine wirkliche Institution. Liegt direkt an der Strandpromenade von Leme. Innen ist es sehr rustikal, etwas überladen aber trotzdem sehr gemütlich, eingerichtet. Top-Service. Enorme Buffets mit sehr guten Speisen. Das Fleisch ist teilweise aus bilogischem Anbau und sehr hochwertig. Ein unbedingtes Muss bei einem Besuch in Rio de Janeiro. Unbedingt reservieren sonst ist es schwierig einen Platz zu bekommen. Nicht zu leger kleiden, eher chic. Das Marius hat auch ein Fischrestaurant direkt nebendran, was auch sehr gut sein soll(hab aber noch nicht selbst probiert).

Vous en connaissez beaucoup de restaurants qui vous servent des fruits de mer à volonté ? Ici, les serveurs passent entre les tables vous proposant crevettes, langoustes, gambas, crabes grillés. Attention ! pour votre malheur il y a également un buffet de hors-d’oeuvres et de spécialités de poissons(dont la célèbre moqueca) Un conseil: pas la peine de réserver une place pour le dernier buffet: les desserts ! Totalement inutile, vous n’y arriverez jamais ! Sans conteste, je né connais pas un autre restaurant de poissons et de fruits de mer sur cette planète qui arrive à la cheville de celui-ci Service impeccable. Ambiance auberge de pécheurs sympathique.
