I have been meaning to check out this place for a while and finally got a chance to stop in for an early evening supper. The cocktail menu was intriguing. We tried the«yellow submarine» which was a barrel-aged cachaça drink with lime, vanilla and maracujá(passion fruit) which was very good but it was piled high with ice and got very watery quick. The«Carla» was a strawberry lime spritzer which was also tasty with freshly muddled strawberries. I tried the Brie gratin with a generous helping of focaccia slices. The bread was excellent, spongy and topped with large sea salt crystals. The melted Brie came presented on an oblong plate surrounded in a sea of black mushroom sauce. It was a great combination full of flavor and quite filling. The hamburger was quite disappointing. It was very undercooked and chewy. The goat cheese was a unique flavor added with red bell pepper and had the potential for being good if it had been cooked right. It came with a delicious au jous sauce perfect for dipping the side of potato wedges in. For a burger, I would much prefer OMG or TT, which are both just around the corner. I would expect better quality for a R$ 49 burger! Maybe the seafood dishes are better but I wasn’t that impressed with the chattery boy’s club waiter, bartender and chef staff inside who didn’t seem to act very professional even when customers were within hearing distance. With so many restaurants in this area, Oscar has a lot of stiff competition.

My wife and I each grabbed a glass of wine here while enduring a 2 hr wait to get seated at a restaurant down the street. The place had a nice vibe but the footprint is so small that we couldn’t help but feel cramped. We were seated at the corner of the bar, where we felt that we had to compete with servers who were grabbing drinks, bottles of wine, and ice. On more than one occasion did we have ice inadvertently splash on us. My wife felt uncomfortable enough that we switched spots. I may update the review after trying more of the food. The Bordeaux we tried was great; generous pours too!
