This place is horrible! Stay away! My friend and I came in for the Saturday night party. We walked in for exactly 1 minute and decided that we did not want to stay and tried to leave. The bouncer grabbed us, and then two of his colleagues came and explained that we had to each pay a 140 reais fee for having entered — which he justified by saying it was for an open bar that was being hosted. We complained extensively, seeing as this was completely unfair(my friend had only gotten one beer, and I had drank nothing). We misunderstood that it was an open bar because we don’t fully understand Portuguese, but we explained to one of the bouncers who spoke English that we’d gladly pay for the one beer that we had ordered. The bouncers took advantage of us and did not let us leave until we paid $ 90(280 reais) between the two of us. When we wanted to stay after having paid the ridiculous sum, they instantly kicked us out stating that they did not want us there since we initially tried to leave(after having offered to pay directly for the bar). These people are thieves, the lowest of the low, and I would NOT be surprised if this place is backed by organized crime of some sort given the shady nature of the staff. This place takes advantage of tourists and what I experienced was like being mugged — they used force to take advantage of my friend and I, stole our money, then kicked us out instantly of the establishment. I am considering contacting the police in Rio about my experience, and am curious if they are already under their radar. Do NOT make the mistake of coming here. These people are quite possibly CAREERCRIMINALS and the venue needless to say was crap — there were few people there and it definitely does not compare to any other bars/lounges in the Leblon area. I have no clue if this business uses Unilocal, but the first way it can make amends is by reimbursing my friend for the 280 reais that were stolen from us and then issuing a formal apology. I am willing to pay back exactly the 10 reais that our beer cost.
