It took us a minute to find this spot as the market is so big. Once we finally found it, I was really excited as I’m a big fan of Bourdain & this was his first stop in the city. We got the mortadella of course and was it big. If I had known I would have ordered that one to share. The cheese was all melted and the sandwich was nice & hot. I took my first bite and the cheese just got everywhere, but I didn’t mind. It was pretty salty though as the other poster mentioned, but it made the Brahma and great pairing. Damn did the 2 go great together. I couldn’t imagine eating it without a very cold beer due to the salt though.

Luckily I was wearing sandals, because this is «knock your socks off» mortadella! Perfect for splitting, or just sitting for an hour, reading, drinking choppi(Brazilian beer) and people watching. If you go to Sao Paulo, go to Mercado Municipal. If you go to Mercado Municipal, go to Bar do Mané If you go to Bar do Mané, get a mortadella sandwich. And if you give a mouse a cookie…

Longest line for food at the Municipal Mercado. They are famous for their HUGE mordetella sandwiches, which is what we ordered. I’m a fan on meats… but the stack of mordetella was too huge… made it overly salty. I think I tasted more salt than anything… However, we ordered the Especial and that sandwich was bomb! It was some sort of sausage with onions and some other stuff which I paid no attention too since it was delish! I know they’re known for their original mordetella, but I would say get the especial.
