We stumbled upon this small restaurant when desperately looking for food after work. You know you are in a legit Japanese Yakitori restaurant when all the patrons in the restaurant spoke Japanese. Yes, that was the first good sign! Then we sat down and the owner came out to personally explain to us in English what’s on the menu. Second good sign! Then he even customized a few dishes for my co-worker who is a vegetarian. That was the third sign this is a great restaurant! The skewers were excellent, I particularly like the dark chicken meat. You have to try to Agadashi tofu here, it is OUTOFTHISWORLD good. Service is excellent also. We ended up coming back here couple of times while we were in Sao Paulo. Highly recommended! 5 Stars in my book!

This is my go to spot when I don’t want to think about what I want to eat but I always know it will be delicious ! Feels and taste authentic probably because it is, the menu is in Japanese as well which gives you an idea that you’re getting the real thing. I usually always get a ramen dish and man does it always hit the spot ! Everyone is very friendly and there is always a man at the front door ready to slide the door open for the next customer.

This is my first visit after their recent renewal and I can only leave positive comments about this Mecca of Japanese food. Although they have some sashimi in the menu, this is the spot to try yakitori, or as the literal translation suggests, grilled chicken. If you carefully take a look around, more than 60% of customers are Asians and that might give you a clue of the size of the trouble you are in… Don’t think twice when trying the grilled options and make sure you try the drink menu. And as the Japanese might do, after sips of sake or sochu, as a grand finale, order either lamen or soborodon to make sure you won’t have any hangover the next morning.

Hard to find a fault with this restaurant. It was our last day in São Paulo and we wanted one more taste of good Japanese food and this place happened to be just around the corner from Shopping Ibirapuera. It was early and there was only two of us, so we took the best seat in the house right in front of the cook. The food itself was one thing, but watching the cook masterfully take in a seemingly infinite amount of orders and then grill up all the dishes to perfection without making the customer wait was fantastic. As far as the food, they pretty much have it all. We mostly stuck with little skewers and ordered a wide variety, but everything we tried was delicious. The waiter was timely and polite, entering our order into a handheld device that must print out for the cook that was seated in front of us. We made several orders throughout the night as we wanted to try new things and the waiter was always nearby to help. As long as you’re willing to be surrounded by Japanese businessmen looking for a break after a long day of work, you shouldn’t have any problem here.

Was wondering what our last meal would be in São Paulo, and this one was a great choice. It’s been a while since I’ve had good grilled Japanese food(a few places in the Bay Area and of course in Japan). I recommend trying a variety of each, since the skewers are all reasonably priced and small portioned. The roasted garlic, chicken teriyaki, and okra were among my favorite. I also tried the quail eggs, shiitake mushroom, asparagus wrapped in bacon, and beef(which was like ground meat). I only wish the shiitake was a little more grilled, it was undercooked. If you are more adventurous, they have different cuts of chicken and beef, and chicken hearts and livers if you like. If you are in a small group or by yourself, I recommend sitting in front of the grills(glass separates you from the smoke and sizzle) because it’s fascinating to the watch the cooks rotate the meat, dip in the marinade, clip off the burnt parts with scissors, and manage the grill with all the busy orders flying in. They also serve oden, which you can see stewing right next to the grills, overflowing with broth and variety of vegtables. Other typical dishes, like sushi, yakisoba, miso shiro are all available as well, but I recommend to at least try some of the grilled items, since that’s it’s specialty. Note that they serve edamame as an appetizer, even if you don’t order it but it gets added to the bill. Of course it’s obvious this place is good, when the locals who patronize it are of Japanese decent, and it retains authenticity. The head chef can be seen working the customers, socializing and even serving. I will definitely return to this place when I get a chance.

One of the best japanese typical restaurant that you can find in São Paulo. It is highly recommended from japanese natives. The food is delicious, from the tea to the barbecue sticks(yakitori), lamen or any other plate from the menu. The price is excellent and on lunch time you get a combo meal when order any plate from the menu.
