Flames Of India

The server was awesome! Unfortunately that’s where it stopped. This is probably the blandest Indian food I’ve ever tried. The tandoori chicken was overcooked to the point where tasted like rubber. The butter chicken tasted like it came from a can. And the Chennai masala was undercooked to the point where the chickpeas tasted like rocks, however the server was very apologetic and I’ll give this place a try in a month or so again

Food is okay nothing too special. For the prices I’d rather go to the other side of town for indian food. I eventually ended up at a pizza place a minute from the airport on mt Lehman by progessive way (near work). The location for this business is good but I wish a better business was actually here. This side of town could use some good authentic indian food.

The food was average or less. The server was friendly but we had to wait to be seated 3 minutes until she finished her conversation with her manager i think.
The buffet is affordable only $ 11 but not worth it at all

I ordered lunch from Flames of India today and while I would usually take some time before writing a review, I just couldn’t wait.
What would you expect from a restaurant attached to a local Travelodge? If you’re anything like me you never would’ve expected truly fantastic South Asian cuisine. I ordered the Butter Chicken with Jasmine Rice and a side of regular Naan. Even with gratuity it was less than $ 20 all in.
The price is excellent; The true joy, though, is that this Fraser Valley (Abbotsford) gem boasts food that completely eclipses so many Indian restaurants in neighbouring Metro Vancouver. The Butter Chicken was huge, thick, quality, and exquisitely flavourful. They have a buffet at lunch that I will also have to try now that they have hooked me.
But the best part of the experience, rivalling the food was their customer service. The energy of Mr. Pankey, the General Manager, was so positive and welcoming. Even before I spied the menu I felt valued, important, and even honoured for choosing them. It’s not something one can expect in Canadian restaurants, most I have no problem saying are a complete tragedy regarding customer service. Not Mr. Pankey and his staff though. These folks are perfect examples of how to do it right and restaurants that aren’t doing similar should be taking notes in the hope they can somehow lead their staff to be so friendly and guest focused.

I spent 6 months in Mumbai, India and fell in love with the food. Especially the street foods like Idli, Dosa’s, Uthappam, and Samosa’s. Flames of India is the first Indian restaurant I have eaten at back home in Canada that really captures that flavor. My family enjoyed it so much we have been back a few times already. I wish I could give it a 4.5 as the food is just amazing. My only criticism is each time service has been a little slow (not bad but with how empty the place was should have been a little faster), and they forgot a dish once (but quickly got it once they noticed). One thing I will add is the food does not taste rushed. It’s piping hot, and tastes fresh. I getting hungry just writing this.

Amazing food, Amazing customer service, good prices. Best Indian food I have eaten in Canada I must say. It reminded me of India. Amazing South Indian food as well as amazing North Indian food. We tried dosa, Idly, uthappam, Kulcha, Butter Paneer, naan. The food had really good flavours and the breads were amazingly soft and good. It was me and my family, my parents don’t like going out because food is bad n prices are high but today they said we will be coming back every time we want to eat out. I am very impressed, the chef came out n spoke to us and he had very good knowledge of his work. Go n check it out.
