This is a nice enough Spa but nothing spectacular given the price range. It is situated in an old lovely home on Ancaster’s main street and there is lots of parking. I don’t find the staff here to be very welcoming though, and they don’t seem to strive to give you an excellent spa experience. Generally, they are running late and the scheduling is an issue. Last time I was here for a massage, I could hear children screaming at the daycare next door the whole time and the massage room smelled like acetone. The masseuse was fine, but didn’t ask me anything about what kind of treatment I was looking for or any areas of concern. When I visited previously I had the same kind of curt introduction to the massage. It is different than what you expect and jarring when the person who is going to massage you doesn’t introduce themselves and make you feel welcome. My main gripe is with the main receptionist. She is rude on the phone, and doesn’t seem to know the treatment menu. Not only that, but she has made huge mistakes with my appointments on multiple occasions(booking the wrong service, wrong time, etc.). It is frustrating enough that it seriously impacts my enjoyment. Considering when you call other spas in the area, like Rosewater, they are lovely and accomodating, Ancaster spa should really look into this issue. I will say, the pedicures here always last and look good. They don’t do a great job really scrubbing or filing the bottoms of your feet though. I’ve had manicures here, and those always turn out well as well although the colour selection is not the best.
