Walmart

Check your bags to ensure the cashier bagged everything before you leave this walmart! To my surprise by time I finished putting my groceries away, I had realized one item was left behind. I noticed the cashier did not put it in the bag as I was paying by credit card, but than I got distracted in conversation and carried my bags out the door and drove 20 minutes home.
I called the store immediately and spoke with general manager who told me to come by and pick up the rubber gloves. I said I am not driving 40 minutes to pick up one pair of $ 3 rubber gloves. I asked if they could refund the money or mail me the gloves and she said no. I than spoke with the customer service manager who also refused to do anything for me. I called head office to complain — and head office did not call me back!
Walmart — let me educate on the proper method of handling this situation:
1) your cashier made the mistake — so an apology would be expected on behalf of your corporation
2) offer an incentive like a $ 10 gift card for my trouble and time to make a special trip to the store
3) as a manager, I would have mailed the gloves with my own money to make things right for the customer and give my company credibility and maintain a good reputation.
Walmart — I have already shared this story with 6 people and now on the world wide web. People are important, its bad enough you pay your staff minimum wages, and therefore your staff does not care about your customers. Its a catch 22. I will never shop at this walmart ever again.
