I am a tennis person and a former full time member. I enjoy the chance to unwind when I occasionally get into town and use the facility on a short term basis these days. It’s a good alternative to Toronto prices but close enough to do business there and Hamilton etc. The courts are the best and everything is there for you, machines, classes, pools so enjoy the place. Please don’t review this business if you received a freebie for writing this review, or if you’re connected in any way to the owner or employees.

The excellent staff and amazing members make this gym worth going to. The facility itself is not much to write home about. As another review mentioned the building is a bit of a maze, and tripping hazard. Signage could be better; I’ve been a member here for a few months and I still get lost on occasion. After minor prompting staff are generally very good at fixing anything that’s broken or subpar. I’ve identified a rowing machine dated from the early 1980’s. Retro. There are simply not enough lockers. When you do manage to get a hold of one during a peak period there are no hangers for your clothes. They seem to want you to fork over an additional $ 25/month for a reserved half locker. It’s a year contract that can only be terminated by a doctors note, so make sure you request some trial sessions.

After the gong show the Quality Hotel put us through from double booking our convention room, we were relocated to the Cedar Springs Health Racquet & Sportsclub. I’m not a Burlington resident and I’m not a member of this club, so my review is based solely as a guest of the facilities. The staff at Cedar Springs is incredibly helpful and friendly. They were told by Quality Hotel that we didn’t need any help or equipment(Seriously? WTF); but they asked us a lot of questions and gave us all the help we needed and went out of their way to show us some kindness after the stress Quality Hotel put us through. Unilocal should have two different star ratings you can select. One for the location and one for the staff. Because the staff here gets five stars from me. Our convention room at Cedar Springs was located down a set of stairs and through a dark, poorly-lit mazelike hallway. There was no public or freight elevator. If you needed the bathroom on that level, a code was required; although there was one in the restaurant on the main floor as well. The convention room itself must have been the most up to date facility back in 1953. It was dingy, dusty, filthy and full of rusted broken tables. The tables all had sticky dark stains on top and gum underneath. The carpet smelled like buttcheeks and there was a dirty marble dancefloor in the center, perfect for your bar mitzvah 30 years ago. Cell service down there? Forget it, unless you wanted to stand up on one of the broken tables and hold the phone in the air while you balanced on one leg. It was pouring rain outside, and parking was difficult enough, so we had to eat dinner there. The food was okay. Not bad, nothing to write home about. They had veg options, which made me happy. The coffee was gross, but that was expected. All in all, Cedar Springs is built like a giant scary old highschool, with highschool-esque food. When you learn later that the building itself is owned by a government official, the crapulence all makes sense.
