I was here on Tuesday evening getting my shilac filled before I popped next door for a hair appointment. I was literally badgered for 15 minutes to upgrade and get a manicure as well as my polish/shilac change. I finally caved after being told it was only $ 10 more. Fine. I had lotion thrown on my hands, which I had to rub in myself, and a towel that was so hot it nearly burnt my skin put on me without any warning. Throughout the entire process, I was not able to have conversation with the woman doing my hails, as all she could say was«Bio gel is better for your nails, do this instead, it’s only $ 70». $ 70!!! Well it lasts for 3 weeks, not just 2. That’s great, I’m not made of money, I don’t have a Black card. Flash forward to today, when I notice the tips of my fingers are burning. I look, and the space at the side of my nails has almost all the skin clipped away and it is now starting to get sore. I work at a desk job, and type all day every day. I had to put a bangage on one of my fingers just to be able to use my keyboard it is so tender. All this, and I didn’t even WANT the manicure. I was pressured into it to get the girl to stop badgering me. As a side note, like one of the other reviewers mentioned… this is THE most expensive nail salon I’ve ever been to. A fill for shilac should not be $ 30. I’ve only ever paid $ 20 for a fill, and $ 25 for a full, new set. Rip off. I haven’t contacted them yet to inquire about a refund, but something tells me I know where that conversation is going to go. To the BBB.

This USED to be my favourite place to get my nails done. I loved the attention you would get even their basic manicure. And their sugar scrub smells awesome. I went in to get a manicure, and the girl convinced me to upgrade to a shellac manicure.(I’ve never had shellac before!) I got my nails filed and my cuticles trimmed and then she applied some lotion to my hands, not doing more than just rubbing it in. When it came time to pay, she took my gift card and rang it through without me seeing what I was charged. When I got the receipt, I saw I’d been charged $ 40! When I asked the manager why I had been charged so much, she indicated I had received the Shellac+Classic Manicure package, which is $ 35. When I pointed out I hadn’t received the services included in the classic manicure(Tree Tea Essence Soak, Hot Towel Wrap, Massage with Aromatic Lotion), she offered to refund me $ 5… I know nail salons are notorious for these kind of shady upselling practices, but when I didn’t even get what I’d be charged for? Sadly(or not), I won’t be back.

I was visiting my parents in Burlington and needed a manicure badly and decided to forgo my normal place and go with what was close and convenient. I ended up in this little nail salon/spa in Burlington Mall. One of the things that impressed me about this place was the emphasis on cleanliness and sterilization. I really appreciated that. The people that worked there were also very courteous and nice. I really loved the smell of the scrubs they used on my legs and feet(mango smelling). BUT there were some major downsides as well. The major downside was the cost, which I felt was VERY expensive for a nail salon. They didn’t really have just a basic manicure/pedicure combo, but instead had a menu of options to choose from. The cheapest manicure was $ 17 and the pedicures started around $ 25 or so. My normal place(and this is pretty standard in the TO area) is $ 35 to mani/pedi. I appreciate the emphasis on cleanliness, but this seemed very steep. Also, I found that the nail polish application wasn’t fantastic either. The nail polish was lumpy and bubbled in places and she missed my baby toe on one side altogether. I didn’t notice until I got home. Also, she had three nail polishes on her tray, two were mine and another random one and she started putting the wrong polish on my toes as well. Luckily it was a nice colour, so I just let it go. I guess the moral of the story is that while this place is fine in a pinch… or if you’re like me and don’t know where else to go anyway, there are likely better places out there. That, or pay close attention to your feet.
